Our area has very little stops, and 1 gym. The 1 stop we have is in a high traffic area, I can’t let my children go there, thete is always accidents on that road. I submit 3 stop requests and all 3 was rejected? We are 7 parents with 6 children coming together at 1 place every Tuesday and Thursday evening,then we walk the couple of stops we have with the 2 routes we made. Very little spawns in our area also. It is costly for us to go to the next suburb but we are forced to go during events with gyms. I have a disabled school close to where we meet, not even that spot will get approved.

Criteria is criteria everywhere. It doesn’t change because you need Pokestops in a certain place.

I see countries on the future plan but not mine, I live in South Africa, Pretoria.
I submit a stop request, it is where we meet 2 times a week and do our walking route, the children played the game first and now got the parents hooked.
The idea of walking club was health for us and keeping our children active.
This looks like a spot created for the purpose of becoming a Pokestop. That can be considered abuse.
We had that sign made to attract more players. It is easier for us to travel to the Botanic Gardens in groups, it is also cheaper. I aslo supply Wifi to the players.
I walked through my sister’s hood recently and found almost nothing close to her home we could nominate. It can be frustrating to look for spots. If you are happy to share the neighborhood you live in, there are folks here happy to help you to look for spots.
If this is a home, including your home, then it is still ineligible. That link also addresses SFPRP - single family private residential property. You can’t just give permission for players to meet there.

Our neighborhood is also a bit sketchy, we have 2 parks close by on stops at both but before we started playing the game we actually got robbed… The park condition is also not the best, the area next to us have a lot more stops and gyms “more white collar area”, but for us as a group to travel there is not always possible, the Raids that occur last weekend our group walked 16km to the next suburb just to participate.
My area is a “blue collar” area, mostly houses, 2 parks a sport field that is accessible unless you part of the soccer club. So we play the game to keep the parents fit and children active. LOL

I agree this appears as though it is likely to be SFPRP. Are there any other photos that might indicate otherwise?
I love that you wanted to get the community to meet up and walk together, but this sign looks like its on the fence of a family home, and as such would be an ineligible location.
Did you make it yourself? Or is it somehow an edited image because it looks a bit strange to me? I am not trying to be rude, just asking.
You mentioned a botanical garden - that would likely be a brilliant place to add multiple PoIs to - usually tonnes of educational signs at those, as well as interesting displays and maybe a picnic area or cafe too? That would be a great place to do some wayfarer-ing 
I would definitely try to submit as many PoIs as you can from the parks as long as you feel safe to do so. Adding things to the area can help make more gyms which could pop up at any of the stops once you hit a threshold for a new gym to be created and it might help
I can do photos of the entrance close to it where a school is? It is the back entrance where the living flats are for people working at the school? If that meets criteria?
A couple of us dads made the sign, I work as a carpenter and 1 dad had the idea to attract more people to join our walks, we actually got 2 new members “adults” and 2 children that joined us. So we are growing slowly.

We just need new routes 
, we walked the 2 we have too much. I will discuss entries or suggestions with the group again and maybe post photos of suggestions here before I submit a request?
