Hey everyone! Avid pogo player and moving from Lake Tahoe to los banos. I have made attempts to put in pokestops to get more for the community as well as gyms. Where I live, there is only one stop, one gym, one dyna. All three are located directly center in a park. Perfectly fine! But to create a route that I would like to actually stroll around the park (15-25 minute walk) I would like to add a stop on the sidewalk. What can I use for terminology to get this approved? This is a very fine line for me to quit the game if it can’t be catered due to the lack of so much content. I only get 3 species of pokemon that appear without a stop and even more so how rare for them to pop up. I can’t see why each park with more than 20,000 square feet shouldn’t have at least 3 stops, 2 gyms and 2 dynas. Anyway, any advice helps and thank you!
Something eligible would have to be present for a stop to be added to the sidewalk. Are there other things in the park you can nominate?
Just adding something to the sidewalk for the sake of having something there isn’t possible.
Welcome to the forum! If you give us the location, many folks on here are excellent at finding things that meet criteria to submit.
Fyi, I know in the beginning Zygarde cells would not spawn on a route with the beginning and the end at the same game location, but it works now. So go ahead and make a loop route. Or two. Or three.
I have brought up about a basketball court and a soccer field. There is one on skylark park that is still being reviewed after taking a while, so I’m hoping I can create a great starting point right near the bbq area.
Hello and welcome,
Sounds like Los Banos is a more rural or suburban area than Lake Tahoe is. You may be interested in our rural tips thread, as it lists many eligible POIs that could be submitted to be Wayspots:
Many parks have multiple POIs. The park itself can be a POI, while things like playgrounds, sports courts, swimming pools/splash pads, hiking trails, monuments, etc, are also eligible.
As for Power Spots, what you call Dynas, these are a mix of unused Wayspots and imports. We have little control over what becomes a Power Spot, especially the imported ones. You can find more info on them here:
Please also read about S2 cells and the game’s spacing rules. In pokémon, only one pokémon stop or arena is allowed per level 17 S2 cell, which is approximately 100x100 meters. This means one stop or arena per 10 000 square meters (not feet). However, the exact placement really depends on your park’s cell layout, so I recommend checking it in advance.
If I have found the right Skylark Park, a half court basketball court is already a Wayspot
Either it or the playground Wayspot called “Meadowlark Park” should be in Pokemon Go, but not both. The other one is most likely the PowerSpot.
I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to Niantic’s Lightship database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. This is a good article about S2 cells and PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
There is one soccer field here already
That pin placement for the existing field is weird. The pin should not be in the middle, but at the edge.
The one beside it should be eligible, as well as the one to the south
And it looks like these picnic and play areas could be submitted
You have 2 Pokemon Go eligible Wayspots in an L14 cell, so you have one gym. You will get a second gym if you get 6 Pokemon Go eligible Wayspots in the L14. This is that L14:
A second gym should be doable.
It does not appear that we can currently create PowerSpots, but that may change. If you find points of interest to submit that are not in an empty L17 cell, go ahead and submit them, and maybe they will start adding more again. But do NOT use the knowledge of S2 cells to pin something where it does not exist just to get it into an empty L17 cell. That is considered very serious abuse.
Thank you so much! I’ll make sure to carefully follow instructions and get it done right. Hopefully it checks out and thank you again!
