  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

That most recent one is a great photo, so I am a bit stumped why the ML (machine learning ai) model would reject this. An ML decision is usually indicated by “Wayfarer criteria” and “our team” if you wonder why I said this. Maybe the snow is confusing it?

I don’t think any of this had anything to do with the rejection, but for future reference, to make your nominations look their best, use proper title case:

Dyer Straights Driving Range
(I don’t think you need to include “Entrance Sign” since it would be the range that would be eligible, but capitalize it if you do.)
If I were writing this description, I would not mention the employment stats, just something like
Outdoor range for developing golf skills
And then I always focus my supporting on how the nomination meets criteria and any clues the reviewer might need to find the location. But the sign is clear on street view, so that should not be an issue.

When I looked this up, it is a “seasonal” driving range, but I think I would accept this, like I would a swimming pool which is only open seasonally. It still exists off season. Others might debate this.

If you decide to appeal this, it will go to human reviewers at Niantic. You have two appeals, each on a 20 day counter before you can use it again.

Thanks for the help! I was feeling the same about it, and I was stumped, so I just kind of wanted to know if it was just me lol. I’ll try re wording it a bit and see if that works and if not I’ll try appealing it.

I would agree with what @cyndiepooh has said. The driving range itself should meet the criteria for socialising and exercising, and whilst it’s perfectly acceptable to use a picture of the sign to represent the driving range (and the picture is good), your nomination should still be for the driving range itself and not for the sign (which doesn’t meet criteria by itself).
