What were the rejection reasons? And did the email say that the “community” or “our team” rejected it? I don’t see any issues with the location from a quick look at satellite view.
Hmm. Wayfarer criteria usually seems to indicate that the ML (machine learning ai) model did not detect anything eligible in the photo. Those emails will be from “our team.” You could possible try backing up to take your main photo to give a little more context what this is if you want to try to submit it again. Or you could try to appeal this nomination. You get two appeals, each on a 20 day timer, if this is something you want to use one on. I think a human will understand what this is.
Your supplemental photo didn’t show the exact same item in a wider angle. Maybe that could be a reason why the ML is against it.
Have you tried a photo from other perspectives (fe from the side)? Yesterday someone have had issues to get a footbridge through. I mean @frealafgb gave the tip about nice side-pictures.
This looks gorgeous, and I’d have accepted it! I like the way you took the initial shot, just a shame the ML didnt like it…
This is something I would try appealing, and if that doesnt work then I would post the appeal result here to see if Niantic staff can reconsider? It seems like a great spot for exploration to me
What was your title for the wayspot? I hope not “Old Navy” anything. That’s a chain store in the U.S. And if the reviewer gets past that - they’ll think it’s currently a Navy dock, so not a good place to be social.
Maybe something inviting like: Pier at Radhimë Beach or Scenic Tourist Pier
The fact that it used to belong to the Navy is not your most important point, so shouldn’t come first. It is interesting history for the description though.
Looks lovely.
The pictures dont match right. From satellite view it looks as though its broken and that there is a gap?? Is there a gap, it would explain the mismatch in surface of the pier.
It would require a different approach to the nomination.
Streetview, which is old….8 years ago, shows the pier in disrepair. There’s a large section that’s missing. That might cause some issues if it goes to human reviews. Can you get a better picture that captures the pier and its surroundings? Or maybe address how it isn’t unsafe if it is still broken?
I think you either focus on the situation now as tourist site and great view or the history aspect of what it was why it was there etc. Its still a place to explore.
the pier does have a gap were itook the picture from, but there are stairs in the end of it so u swim out clim and dive or fish from where the photo is taken. You thing because a piece is missing they might consider it dangerous or something?
It’s hard to know what reviewers might think. I was just noting it in case it could be something they pick up on. If the focus of the wayspot is the pier, you might want to be sure to point out that it is safe and used as is.
Can you show us pictures that let us see fully what it looks like. That way we can get a proper understanding of the problem. And look more broadly for solutions.
Its at the beach and i dont live close by. Just had about 6 nomination shut down and one approved today which is making me hate the AI even more. Niantic needs to provide the rejection criteria because just saying criteria is outer bull. Also does anyone know what in Queue means?
In queue means that has yet to start the review process, once that starts it changes to in voting.
If you would like to post a couple of the ones Emily rejected we would be happy to advise.
Try to focus on the one that was a win. It’s a start.
You are doing something right.
