Hello

nice to hear from you again :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I agree that having a place name helps give this wayspot a more distinct title.

However why change it from Half court?

Perhaps the reviewers felt that half court was more accurate? :woman_shrugging:

A judgement call.

Perhaps Drakestone Basketball Half Court or Basketball Half Court, Drakestone

Would be better??

It also looks as though its pin location could be improved as it’s not on the court.

IMO: Niantic have been a bit pedantic with this. If this had gone to Vote I would have Accepted it.

Half Court - Poor
Drakestone Basketball Court - Better
“Drakestone Basketball Half Court” or “Basketball Half Court, Drakestone” - Best

Also agree that a Location Edit would be a good idea, positioned right at the end of the path.

This was an appeal outcome as the community had already come down in favour of no change.

And when we read edits for review we don’t know which is the current description. So some may see it’s a half court not see the estate sign and think that is more accurate.:woman_shrugging: So I can see why the community reached the decision it did.

I do get edits where I think in my judgement neither is that good.

Maybe ( and this is speculation) the appeals reviewer felt the same.

It’s okay though. There isn’t a limit to the number of times you can re submit… it has since been corrected. But there’s definitely levels to the quality of a wayspot title.

You see “pavilion” in your gym list. Sure, that was that pavilion that was out somewhere. Can’t really tell from the small thumbnail though. You see “Jacko Boussard Pavilion”. Oh yeah, the pavilion at Jacko Park. And then “Jacko Boussard NW Pavilion” You know that’s the pavilion next to the entrance. Now either you trust that the submitter is not trying to name something after themselves or a friend or you look at the map and use your resources to see if the title is probably valid. But in NO world would a generic title like half court be better than “[anything] Half Court” And then to double down on that?
