Why was this almost immediately appealed?

I frequent Cantina Cinco De Mayo #1 near this Wayspot almost weekly assuming that I am in Little Rock. That has a different Wayspot than the one about which I ask. The closest one to Cantina Cinco De Mayo #1 excluding The Village at Rahling Road (actually there) is one that I typically visit in Pokémon GO and Ingress named Event Venue!. The original name (outside of the games) was Noah’s Event Venue. Time elapsed and the name became Chenal Event Venue. I know who nominated Event Venue! but will not summon her here. I tried to change the title to Chenal Event Venue! (I know the “!” Is there and part of the title.). When I did, the team decided to reject my title edit. I know to appeal when able in the correct location. Do you have any suggestions? These are screenshots relating to what I typed. Chenal did not exist in the name when this was nominated and is not cropped.

What suggestions do you have? I use my appeals as soon as I am able and have zero remaining as usual.

“Our team” = the machine learning system Niantic uses.

It often approves/rejects minor edits. You would have to Appeal and then a human will look at the edit appeal.

I think the title is fine as it is. It was an event venue. It is still an event venue.

When you change a title, you run the risk that Niantic will remove the Wayspot because it is no longer the thing that was originally nominated.

Grammar-wise, I really don’t like the title having an explanation point at the end, as it’s not a part of the actual title for the venue.

All edits as of the end of April can be appealed via Contribution Management, including title edits. This one may be tricky though, since the venue was created under Noah’s Event Venue, not Chenal Event Venue, which Niantic might see as a complete change of business. If you do appeal, you may want to provide additional proof of the title change, like a website or social media link.

Appealing is simple. However, I have no appeals like usual. That was the first place that I went yesterday to appeal. I know “!” is not part of the name and might attempt a title edit without that and see what happens. I know the person, not me, that nominated Noah’s Event Venue added more than just the official title years ago when she did.

There’s no option to have a rejected submission immediately appealed, and this is due to the 2 appeals every 20 days limit. Niantic also doesn’t apply appeals for users.

If Niantic automatically appealed rejected submissions, their appeals team would be overworked, and most likely would have to deal with some rejections that don’t even meet criteria to begin with. I can seen this getting abused, and then we might go back to 1 appeal every month.

Also, with many who do appeal ML rejections, the appeals team tends to just agree with ML. This may just be a case where you have to resubmit instead of appeal.

I have had to report a church’s name sign as removed after the church’s name changed to be able to nominate that location and change the photo, title, and description. On August 1, I go to Pittsburgh for 10 days. I might have to nominate the same thing again and hope the local community accepts. I have plenty of nominations remaining. That is not an issue. I dislike having to do that but can when there. I submitted the title edit using Ingress since I have resonators in the Portal and do not have to be there. You do not need to reply unless you just wish to reply.
