Whats appening?

What’s appening niantic? Today like 8 of my nominations sent in November have been rejected for “wrong title” without any sense. This is so stupid. Even if it’s in another language you can compare words.

It’s not “wrong title”. It just says that your titles are not good enough and need improvement.

What is Gravedona?

Yes, the rejection is low quality or inaccurate title.

Agree with Roli on Gravedona, as that’s not translating for me. Is that in another language than Italian, since you mentioned different languages being used? Or is it the city this is in, as I see the basic location as Gravedona Lombardia.

Edit: The title is now translating per word for me. It’s Gravedona - Sailors of Italy Square. I don’t think Gravedona is needed in the title, as the location has to be provided in nominations anyways. It could be included in the description, but the title it really isn’t needed.

always got accepted wayspot with the name of the country before the name of the object

yeah but a square is always a square. I don’t know what I should edit

the name of the town…always got accepted wayspot like this (with the name of the town before the object)

But it’s unneeded, as the location has to be given anyways. Reviewers might have seen these and felt that Gravedona was unneeded, making the title low qualify. Sailors of Italy Square is what’s on the sign in Italian, and would be best for the title.

Sometimes, titles you submit in the past may not be seen as being of good quality by reviewers in the future. While the location being in the title is not nessacarily low qualify and/or inaccurate, it may populate the maps in the game with too many similar titled Wayspots, which can get a little boring and odd.

It may also affect Ingress game play if every title starts with the same letter, but a mission requires completing the alphabet.

That is not how Ingress missions work.

It’s an aspect of the game. Geez…

Tell me you’ve never played Ingress without telling me you’ve never played Ingress…

Again, it’s an aspect. Please don’t gang up on me. Muting.

Missions are a feature of Ingress, yes.

But there’s never a Mission that says “Complete the alphabet”. Even if I made a Mission that had 26 Portals in all starting with a different letter, it would still be able to get completed even if the Portal titles changed.

If you’re unsure, best to say so and not make it seem like fact.

To get back to your question, is “Titolo di bassa qualità o impreciso” the only rejection reason that comes up if you refresh the screen?

I am not sure what I am looking at here, being from another part of the world. I don’t think I would have a problem with having “Gravedona” in the title if there could be another “Piazza Marinai d’Italia” you are distinguishing it from. Would you like to share the entire nomination to get our opinion on whether you should appeal this one?

The Wayspot Appeals section of the forum is not for appealing a rejection. That is done through your contributions page. You get two appeals, each with a 20 day counter before you can use it again.

Ive now moved this discussion to nomination support as its not a valid appeal.

sorry for the wrong topic…btw it’s the only motivation…but this is one of the 8 rejection with this motivation…all the same

Hmm…So if you are able to resubmit without Gravedona in the title, I would try that. If you are not nearby, you could try appealing at least one of these to Niantic, explaining why the title is not low quality or inaccurate.

As I said before, I am not sure if this is an eligible nomination and don’t want to lead you wrong in that case.

There was a similar situation a few months back using a similar naming convention. I’ll include the thread below. Please note I have not re-read it all, just confirmed a similar naming convention.

Hey, maybe you’re thinking of when I mentioned key sorting. How Wayspots are titled can be a strategic factor for game play. Understanding how it can affect the games can actually factor how I review and if I think something might need to be reported or be considered an erroneous edit. Knowing how the games interact with Wayspots makes you a better reviewer.

Note: not specifically saying there’s any wrong doing, here; generally speaking, as long as the title isn’t irrelevant I think the submitter more or less has “rights” to title it how they want.
