Not going to post the photo here because, well, y’know. But there are various types of statues like tribal statues, greek(?) or roman(?) style statues, cherub fountains, etc that depict certain parts of the body, but are also just placed right out there in public in plain view of anyone passing by with seemingly no objection from normal folk.
So as an example, would something in a similar style to the Venus de Milo be considered acceptable or would it be inappropriate? Looking for an official answer. I know there are some existing wayspots with visible noteworthy features but I’m not sure if those are actually supposed to be allowed or just stuff that slipped through.
I don’t know of any blanket statement to point you to. I know I have seen several posts where the “automated process” has rejected nudes. I have also seen resubmissions from a different angle go through. I would guess that a lot would depend on how the photo was taken if you are considering submitting one. In reviewing, you would just have to use your best judgement as to whether it is art or adult content.

Here is one of the posts I was thinking of: Submission of bronze sculpture rejected

I actually have seen a pokestop here in downtown Phoenix that has dancer statues. I will have to go get a screenshot of it if you want to see it, but I was a little surprised it was there. Maybe because they’re not overly detailed, but I mean, you can definitely tell it’s an unclothed person
In my opinion it should be fine as long as it’s not the focus of the submission/ image. Not having Michelangelo’s David as a waypoint would be weird.

I’m not too worried about rejections since it’s a numbers game anyway and there’s always an element of randomness to Wayfarer. Just want to make sure it’s not considered offensive or inappropriate content as long as my photos aren’t zoomed in on the parts at issue, because I’d rather avoid the hassle of getting reported for abuse.
Its definitely not inappropriate to submit artwork featuring nud e people. It’s just part of art particularly certain periods
Be a little careful how you frame the picture so that the eventual pokestop image doesnt focus on the mid- area of the statue (there is one like that locally LOL) - getting a bit of sky above the head should prevent that haha
Oh, huh, I forgot to consider how the photo would be cropped in-game. Oops.

Not something you think about much until you see a PoI for a male statue with a certain item dead centre in the stop’s photo disc

Nothing wrong with some tasteful artistic nudity.
The topless little mermaid statue at my local amusement park is one of my favorite Gyms and I would hate to see it go.
