It is about an Italian reporter who died in Somalia after discovering toxic waste and weap0n traffic between locals and western countries.
This plate is about 10 days old. Anyway I took the pic of it. I placed it correctly. I even wrote a link to prove its existence.
Yet NIANTIC staff rejects it with the typical reason of an abuse, despite not being offensive at all. So either you review correctly something that is more than 100% valid, or please stop doing it and leave it to someone more qualified. Thank you.
That abuse rejection reason is poorly worded. It could be nothing to do with the text or harassment. Is this photo posted anywhere else, or is the pin wrong? You can find the gps coordinates in your submission email underneath the last photo.
[Please note that Niantic staff do follow the forums, and sometimes comment on posts here. The rest of us are just trying to help figure out what happened.]
That does indeed say “our team” (in English). I didn’t think you could get multiple rejections reasons when it was reviewed in-house (and I wish the wayspot “not accepted” details didn’t make it look like it was reviewed by the community when it wasn’t).
Slight problem with the URL is that it requires allowing all cookies to be turned on before displaying, so I was unable to check the details of the plaque. It’s possible this was a problem for the reviewer.
The abuse flag may be because when you reverse Google image search the image, and look at the Exact Matches tab, you get a lot of results from Instagram that apparently have this exact same image. Did you take the image from the internet or upload it somewhere before using it for wayfarer?
If you didn’t, then there is no obvious reason for the rejection. Is there any chance you got the location wrong? The coordinates from the submission receipt email would be helpful.
I don’t know what back end Niantic use for determining duplicates, but Google Lens came up with an exact match of this which is clearly incorrect..
Also there appears to be garbage text in the submission “jsns”, “dbbs”, “shbs”. That could be a cause for rejection.
Assuming that the Title and Description are good, I would appeal it as it looks potentially valid - you can include a link to this forum thread when you do so.
