Why was my pokestop rejected?

Hi,
Before submission I made sure that the spot meets all criteria. I often see pokestops with insect hotels. What’s wrong with this one?
I would appreciate any feedback, thanks

Welcome to the Wayfarer forum @FireOfMuspell2 !

Insect hotels can meet criteria, if they are a GREAT place to socialize, exercise or explore at.

The example shared by you looks like one you can buy in a lot of stores so would be too generic to be a good wayspot (please correct me if I am wrong).

Hi, thanks! In our area there are no pokestops at all (only few in the whole village, far away from each other). I thought this would be a nice spot since there are no other stops nearby (and no other landmarks / places like this). There are also a lot of kids playing around. Is there something I can do / change in the nomination to have it accepted?

There are indeed challenges with finding good wayspot candidates in more rural areas, it might be good to read up on possibilities here: Tips for Rural Nominators

Is it rejected by"our team" or “our community”? Niantic AI might auto reject some submission. Anyway if that happen, you can resubmit or appeal. Personally i would fight for this wayspot

Hi, I’m a huge insect hotel fan but it’s not so much about the kids playing there as it is about not meeting rejection criteria. I would also question the permanence of a relatively small store-bought object that has no guarantee of permanently being here or being maintained by anyone in the future.

Hi, it was “our team”. That means AI?

“Unfortunately, our team has decided not to accept your Wayspot nomination.”

There is no information exact which criteria were not met. It would be much easier to correct it and resubmit / appeal.

Yes. Just resubmit or appeal. You have 2 appeal every 20 days. AI works to reduce reviewer load but it is not perfect and might be wrong. I myself just got 2 rejection. I appealed and got both approved

AI exist because too many people submit things like this .. face palm

So sometimes people got wrongfully rejected

It’s does look like a mass-produced object which might count against it, but there’s a terrific photo and a good location which might make me want to vote for something like this. If it got into general voting I’d guess it might be accepted.

I took the liberty of looking around the area. This community noticeboard would make a good nomination:

I can see another one here:

There are several paths running through the forests, if these have trail markers then these can be excellent candidates.

StreetView coverage is patchy, so if possible try to include the street name signs in the supporting photos as that will help people confirm the location.

Thank you, I’ll make more supporting photos and appeal. Thanks a lot!

The trail signs in forrest are only painted on the trees. There are no other signs. Will it be enough?

Thanks for checking the area in google maps. I saw the noticeboards and I plan to nominate them too. Although I am not a huge fan of them, they are in most cases really ugly  Postcards with trees or insect houses are definately better

Thanks a lot!

Do you have map of this trail sign? It would help because the sign looks plain.

With trails it’s good to find some supporting evidence that they exist, for example a web page from the park or local government. When they wayspots go to human voting, the people voting will be relatively local and the choice is up to them based on their own experience. I’d certainly try a couple to see if they get accepted though.
