This is not a private access. Its a public walking path.
Hello, and welcome to the forum!
The object you nominated was the fountain, which unfortunately is in the middle of that body of water and isn’t accessible. Wayfarer rules say that you need to be able to walk up and touch the nominated object, and as it isn’t accessible without swimming out to it, it is deemed not to have safe access.
Does it have a plaque? Or a sign? If it does you can try nominating that as the anchor for the object that would have safe access. I suspect it doesn’t, as it’s likely a water aerator designed to move the water around in the pond.
Hello,
According to criteria, this doesn’t qualify as a fountain.
No it doesnt have a plaque. It has a open to fishing signage. But this is new developement area so dont have any boards on the walking path as well.
What are my options in here?
It does have a bench next to fishing signage, if i can nominate that?
Could you post a picture of the fishing signage please.
I take the benches are fairly ordinary?
Hi @ironman56 I’m from DSM and submitted several of the locations around Waukee several years ago, but it’s been a while since I’ve been through.
If you mean the “Fish Local” signs, these are fairly generic but I think an acceptable enough “proxy” for a pond if you can develop solid text to accompany it - several of the parks across the metro have seen these approved.
Generally speaking, benches are ineligible for being too generic, but if there’s a section along the walking paths with several benches set up as a plaza or clearly set up to admire the view, these can sometimes end up acceptable.
Lastly, the trail has an underpass nearby - these are typically accepted in our region and you’ll find many around Waukee and the metro.
You are correct. It does have underpass right next to it. Yup, the bench is generic and its just couple if them.
Any suggestion for putting underpass as a wayspot
Welcome to the forums. Not immediately relevant to the pond aerator you nominated, but let’s talk briefly about your supporting photo, so your future nominations can be better.
The primary purpose of the supporting photo is to prove to reviewers what you nominated is where you say it is. Your nomination should be in the supporting photo, along with other recognizable objects/things/etc. as applicable so as to place it in its location. This is especially important for nominations that can’t be seen on street or satellite view.
The “thing” nominated should be the main focus of your primary photo, but ideally “part of the scenery” in your supporting photo. This will help future nominations.
