Hey guys,
So i read that nominating a community board could potentially be eligible,
i tried nominating this, its not exactly a “board”
but would that be worth trying again?

I’m going to be honest here, probably not. It looks like something that could be easily picked up and walked away with. While it might be a permanent feature there, it looks very temporary.
The community boards themselves inside UK supermarkets are better (even if they sometimes get rejected). I’d struggle to accept this.
Those community initiatives points are not usually permanent in terms of location.
Many supermarkets do host community noticeboards. It is difficult to get these through initially but their function is just like any other community noticeboard and actually their location is usually really good too. But they often get rejected and need to be appealed. So the appeal reviewers understand the value, it’s a message that needs to get out to reviewers.
These things can move around, so not necessarily permanent. I’d say not distinct either as I can’t see how it falls under exploration, exercise or socialisation criteria.
What do Wayfarers think of in-supermarket cafes? Although they seem to be closing down these days, but would that have potential?
A lot of the cafes are being removed.
Locally our Morrisons cafe seems to thrive because it offers very good deals especially for family’s - cheap hot meal for all, and you sometimes get vouchers for coffee - which reminds me I have one to use by Sunday ![]()
It is by far the biggest cafe within walking distance so to the locals this is a place to go, but on rating sites it doesn’t look good. They lack atmosphere. So are quite generic
My local Morrisons cafe is something I would only go to if desperate.. or to be social. The food is edible but nothing I would recommend. A lot of Morrisons cafes closed but some remain.
Yes it is worth trying again, community message boards promote socialization.
Don’t worry about others telling you it’s not “permanent” they are just using their own definition. Niantic’s definition:
Is the community message board identifiable within its immediate vicinity? Yes
Is highly likely that you will be able to revisit it? Yes
It is “Permanent and Distinct” under Niantic’s metrics.
This appears to be a temporary station for a collection for a specific purpose that will be removed when the fundraiser is over. Do you have any documentation that this is a permanent installation? It does not appear to be permanently affixed from what I can see.
I dont have any documentation, but I have been living here for 14 years and that sign hasn’t been moved,
There are 3 causes,
Once the fund reaches its goal, they simply just replace it with another cause and goal, but the sign itself hasn’t been moved for as long as iv been living here, which makes me believe its permanently places there ^^
Okay if this isn’t removed when the goal is met, just started over, it might not be rejected as “temporary.” You might be able to show that with a link to something about the Tesco Community Fund in the supporting. Maybe https://tescoireland.ie/sustainability/places/community-fund
I don’t see your description. What did you say there? This is not what I normally think of as a community information board. But this could be a good way to give back to the community, which could fall under the “being social” criteria.
This was in the description, I did copy and paste the text,
BUT I did try to remove/add words in so its not a complete copy, as I know that would be against the rules
In my opinion, this description is still too close to the original to suggest you appeal the rejection, but I am not a lawyer. I do like how you are emphasizing the mission and how long it has been going on. I would add more about it informing about featured local causes, and that new causes are chosen when this donation is made so that it is clearer that it is permanent.
If you want to try again, I would suggest using a different main photo than the one that has already been rejected by the ML model. You can try a couple of angles. Maybe one that focuses in on the top part of the board where the information is. I can’t exactly demonstrate but possibly just focus on this part
If the resubmit is also rejected, you could try an appeal. I honestly don’t know on this one. With the information posted about the local causes, that makes it more interesting than just a donation bin imo.
