OP make sure you take a screenshot of all your private messages with staff (if you had any).

This situation is foul. There should be no other outcome than for OP to be made whole again.

keep responding back to pokemon go support that they do not understand the situation. you would have picked up the silver bottle cap if you had not been banned in error. the silver bottle cap should be granted to you. i do not believe they cannot do it.

This situation is exactly like being wrongfully detained by the police. In the real world, if you are wrongfully jailed for 10 days and then exonerated, the State is legally required to compensate you for the damages and lost income during that time.

Since Niantic admitted the ban was wrongful, they have an obligation to restore what was lost. Unlike the real world where you can’t get time back, in a digital game, Niantic can easily generate and restore the Silver Bottle Cap with zero cost. A simple refund is not justice; they need to restore the exact item lost due to their error

I’m really happy that you saw this and even more happy the OP got a resolution despite still missing out on game play. I hope notes are taken and consideration can take place in the future when mistakes like this happen. A messy situation that at least some intervention was able to take place can at least assure the community that there can be actual support, even when it takes weeks.

I’ll still concerned about why a prior comment I made about reaching out for support was flagged and deleted by staff. I can only see it as coming off as censorship against anything that could tarnish this already bad look without any explanation to me.
