A Little Request :,)

Request for Review and Clarification Regarding Rejected Wayspot: “Contemporary Einstein Mural”

Dear Wayfarer moderators and community,

I hope this message finds you well. I’m still quite new to the Wayfarer community, so please forgive me if I’m not following the exact format or if I make any mistakes in the way I’m presenting this — I truly mean this message with all respect and appreciation for the work you do.

I would like to kindly request a reconsideration of my Wayspot nomination titled “Contemporary Einstein Mural”, located in Puente Alto, Región Metropolitana, Chile. The nomination was recently rejected on July 9, 2025, with the reason that it is located on private property that is not publicly accessible.

However, I would like to humbly clarify that this mural is indeed located in a place that is fully accessible to the public at all times. It’s painted on an exterior wall within a passage that has metal gates, but these gates are always open — 24 hours a day, every day — because the residents and workers in the area rely on this access daily. The gates were installed over ten years ago due to past neighborhood concerns, but they have never been used to block access and remain permanently open.

The mural has been in place for around six years, and it’s well-known and appreciated by the local community. It does not interfere with any private residence or block access, and it’s easily visible and approachable from the public path. I understand how it might have appeared to be on private property from the photo due to the gates, and I sincerely apologize if my original nomination didn’t provide enough context to make that clear.

If it’s possible to review the nomination again, I would deeply appreciate it. I am happy to provide more photos or videos to help clarify the situation, and I will also be attaching a SmartView image to support my explanation.

Thank you so much for your time, and again, I truly appreciate all the effort that goes into maintaining this community. I hope I haven’t overstepped in asking, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to learn and participate here.

With kind regards,
Dixie.

If the wall that it’s painted on is the external wall of a single family private residential property, then it was correctly rejected for being on private residential property as per this clarification:

Note the text about being on the outer facade or outward facing side of a property boundary.

If the building is not a single family private residence, and you have proof of this, you could submit this proof with your appeal when the appeal button becomes available for you (I’m assuming you’ve used both of your available appeals recently and that you’re waiting for the 15 day cool down before you’re given another one to use).

Hello and Welcome @Sunnisita
It is not always obvious where the best place to post a query is, so I will move this to nomination support.
@hankwolfman has already explained the rules around Single family private residential property and I can see you have reacted positively. You may not have any further queries which is fine but if you do it is great to ask them in this topic especially if you are wondering about some other submissions before you make them.

Oh, thank you very much for your kindness. Yes, that’s right, and if you don’t mind, I would like to ask you if this is a good proposal. I’m sorry for my poor English and for any inconvenience.

It would be better to submit the park and not the sign, as in itself the sign is not interesting for Wayfarer criteria; so basically just change the text that you are submitting the park. Also, reviewers may doubt that the sign is actually permanent as it looks like a flimsy DIY project

And I did not have any trouble with your English!

Sure, I thought about that, but I proposed it that way because there’s already a Wayspot for the exercise park itself, so that’s why I specifically mentioned the sign made by the community.

it doesnt look permanent, nor authorized. Like i was made simply for the purpose of a pokestop.

It’s a shame it looks like that, honestly :frowning: I’m sure it was made with a lot of love by the local Pokémon GO community. From what I know, they even requested permission from the neighborhood council to beautify the park.

You must understand that its impossible for reviewer to verify this. Just word is not enough. There are a lot of people making homemade object just for making wayspot. Perhaps if the sign appear more permanent, it might be different. But if the park ald have wayspot, submitting the sign might get marked as duplicate
