I’ve been submitting multiple wayspots that have gotten accepted, but I noticed that one spot already got misplaced by another player causing it to disappear. Now when I was doing my reviews, I noticed one wayspot which I’ve submitted earlier this week and that got accepted, and it is asking for a new location which misplaces it from where it actually is, I’ve got proof of it. See my attached photos.
The wayspot in question is called „TF Roden E.V. Öffentliche Bekanntmachungen" and is located here 49.33959,6.758476
This player, he is trying to manipulate our community submissions for years now.
My linked photos show the actual location and the cells at this location, which would cause the submission to disappear if the fraudulent location were to get accepted.
Please help our community out and do something against this abuse!
This is the fraudulent location edit attempt made. You can clearly see the evidence of the signboard being placed right next to the tennis court, between the footpath to the restaurant.
That’s not an easy question, there are a couple of things you can do:
report the location edit as abuse (while reviewing)
if the edit actually would be approved, you can use the help chat to get it back to the correct location
But also, staff here read all comments, while they will not always tell what they do, they might investigate this already.
If you have other examples, you may want to share these here. This edit, though in my view not correct, does not have to be abuse, but if there are more, there may be someone out there who wants to manipulate the gameboard.
Well, if you ask me, it definitely is abusive intent to wrongfully place an object where it doesn’t belong with the intent to get it removed from the game. Anyways, I hope the proof I provided is enough.
Naturally I don’t know why someone proposed this change, what I can see, that moving it would not be correct, it will make the pokestop disappear. However from what I see, nothing else could replace it. The only thing that could be eligible is the outdoor tennis court, but the other court is already in the game.
But you are right, moving a wayspot away from the correct position, is usually considered abuse.
