If one of the nominations gets approved, how long will it take for the stop to appear in the game? My appeal was accepted a year ago for a student apartment complex building in Birmingham but even though I lived in that building for more than a year, a Pokestop never ever appeared even though the appeal was accepted a year ago.
Accepted Wayspots will normally appear within 48 hours in your game. If one doesn’t, it’s because of the Inclusion rules cyndiepooh has informed about.
Accepted wayspot doesnt guarantee it become pokestop. U nd to understand s2 cell rule 1st.
Of course I read the article that you linked, but still it is not something that I’m familiar with and I don’t completely understand it. The area that I’m trying to rejuvenate is a very popular area with a lot of pedestrian foot traffic. It is in fact the most famous area in the city right now and it does not have a single Pokestop or gym. So according to your expertise? What is the likelihood of a wayspot getting approved but not appearing in the game as a stop?
I looked up the location of the SteakAway (that appears to be a chain restaurant and would be very difficult to get accepted) and it looks like this area is not as lacking in Wayspots as I was thinking from your original post. This is a map of Wayspots used as portals:
People have made great suggestions here. Nominate the plaza area instead of individiual canopies.
This seems like a work of art and can be submitted as such
Is that a sign with information about the art?
This Arcadian Cafe looks more unique and might have a better chance than the SteakAway.
This is a closer up image of the area. One thing per grid can go live in Pokemon Go.
[leaving an ingress link to a nearby portal so people can find this area easily who want to help Fountain 1 at Avenue 8 ]
Tbh, id say most of these things would actually make it throigh in scotland/uk, but your descriptions are bad. Dont mention pedestrian friendly in the description, its unnecessary and not what the description is for. Youve also, for example of the stakeaway, nit mentioned the restaurant once jn the description, youve spoken abojt the area rather than what youre actually submitting.
1, 2 and 6, call them unique architecture, find out who designed them, if they werent designed, maybe just submit one and be happy if it gets through
3 im shocked was ai rejected, thats an easy pass, appeal that
5 looks to be a chain, so dont bother
7 looks to be a fairly generic restaurant, qhile i think they can be acceptable, youll need to sell it well
8 is a tree, trees arent acceptable unless they are a sight seeing tree
9 im surprised didnt get accepted as well as weve had them pass easily in scotland, appeal this
One thing that will also help, take pictures during the day
I really don’t understand this concept of whether one good restaurant can be accepted while the other cannot even though both are very high-end and unique. I thought providing a social media link or website link to a good restaurant can help it get approved although it is a place for people to sit down, have a good meal and socialise.
Also, the Arcadian café that you mentioned is the most finest restaurant you can visit in the entire city. Their menu has won awards for being the most versatile and spoiled-for-choice. It’s usually full on a Saturday and Sunday. This restaurant should definitely be a gym in the future.
Here is a clarification I hope will help about the restaurant.
But mainly the difference is a place you can eat, and a destination you would seek out. The “finest restaurant you can visit in the entire city” definitely meet the criteria for a great place for exploration.
Basically niantic dont want every restaurant to be wayspot. Especially because niantic can get sponsorship from things like franchise like mcdonald. Its 100% rejection if u submit things like mcdonald. So only local unique restaurant or cafe usually accepted. So instead of submitting the restaurant /cafe its easier to submit art/mural inside restaurant/cafe
The reason why I consistently mention pedestrian friendly is because the rejection rate is so high that it has got me feeling paranoid earlier so I wanted to make it absolutely clear and transparent that it is a very safe place for people to gather and socialise. There is a consistent warning in Pokémon GO to be careful and mindful of your surroundings.
Its not wrong to point out safe pedestrian access in the supporting information, its just not too good if you emphasize on this and neglect other more interesting information that could be provided. Also you should always have in mind that reviewers might be a bit lazy and not read through too long texts (a fact that bothers me more than most others because I like detailled supporting information and I hate when it gets ingored…) I brought myself to have the information i present as compact as possible and concentrate on the most important parts for reviewers.
Photo speak louder than word. You can put 2-3 photo in collage for surrounding photo if u nd to put in more evidence. Anyway just because people say it is safe, doesnt means its is really safe . Let reviewer see from your point of view and let them judge.
Put that in the additional info box, as that is additional info. Its unecessary and deteacts from your nomination
This is also important, long descriptions put reviewers off. Its a tough balancing act, for example ive submitted listed buildings, put in loads of info about the listing and they got rejected for description lol. When shorter descriptions, rejected for generic or other lol
Hi @KByville
I’ve moved your topic into the category Nomination Support in hope that many more user will benefit from it
Hiya!
I love the outdoor shaded plaza you have attempted to submit. I would definitely persevere with that because it looks like a great place to be social. Probably cant be broken down into multiple areas unless its quite separate, but certainly deserves at least 1 waypoint!
With the restaurants, its good to try to mention something in the description about why its good/special/different and why people might visit. Sometimes you can get away with a very basic description but its better if there’s a bit more information. Ive added some examples here of noninations Ive made for different eateries in case they are helpful
Electrifying Bull Mural
Description
This bull isn’t just fired up—it’s supercharged! With lightning shades and a rebellious grin, this mural brings an electrifying vibe to SteakAway, turning every visit into a high-voltage experience.
Location
Plot 78, Defence Raya Golf Resort Sector M DHA Phase 6, Lahore, Pakistan
Supplemental Information
This mural is a striking centerpiece of SteakAway, making it a go-to photo spot for visitors. Murals and artistic displays like this enhance public spaces and contribute to the local culture. Its bold design and vibrant energy make it a great landmark for Pokémon GO trainers and art lovers alike!
I actually decided to go and eat at the restaurant and take pictures of the different art pieces inside rather than nominating the entire restaurant because like so many people mentioned that it is likely to get rejected as it is a generic chain. This is just one of the murals that was inside the restaurant and I think it qualifies for a very good piece of art. I also uploaded a nomination for a bull statue located on the mezzanine floor.
Yes its correct. Instead of nomination the store and got rejection as generic business…nominating playground, fountain, mural , art inside the store got more chance.
I would remove this altogether.
Since this may also not be seen in the current Streetview, it may help to add location context in the supporting. It can be as simple as pointing out the plaza’s distance relative to the mural from your shot above. You can also link an article that may prove it exists as pinned.
Yes dont mention any game because wayfarer is being used for many games . It can be rejected due incorrect description
