They may not currently sync regularly, but you have no idea when they will sync so this argument doesn’t hold. And you conveniently left out Ingress which does sync daily.
…And in this particular case, Lion #2 is still further way from the fountain than Lion #1, so the move either benefits both games or benefits one game and has no effect on the other, so no harm done.
Those people editing for Pikmin Bloom just seem to hate Pokéstops!
The only way this can be every present, future and past game’s database is without giving special treatment or advantage to any single game. This is literally the only possible way. If you want to make the Pokémon GO argument you need to be ready for the Ingress, MHN etc argument to be made to you in return.
…But in this particular case, the move either benefits or has a neutral effect on all of the games. It harms none of them.
I know it’s a quibble, but this statement is not necessarily true - I started playing Ingress to be able to submit things for Pokemon Go, well before Wayfarer and PGo submissions were a thing. After I achieved the right level to submit, I asked my Pokemon Go community to help with suggestions for new Pokestops, and was one of those “designated submitters” for some time before my fellow trainers got their own submission rights. Even before I reached the right level and was able to submit in Ingress, I knew of the inclusion rules - TheSilphRoad, for one, had it all sussed out well in advance.
Apologies and thank you for the clarification!
For all of those who think they’re being helpful responding, “next time be more strategic,” here’s a visual of a situation:
There’s literally nothing else acceptable within this S2 L14 cell. The “Bayside Health and Fitness Center” at the end of this building complex is permanently closed. Furthermore, zooming out to the surrounding S2 L14 cells will show just how barren the landscape of Wayspots is.
Moving the Wayspot from Lion #1 to Lion #2 would allow the fountain to open up as a Pokestop, thus not only creating a new Pokestop but also allowing a gym to appear. Now I’ve inadvertently ruined the chance to ever get a gym in this area, so there is no “next time.” That’s just rubbing salt on an open wound.
The arguments about how moving affects other games in this situation are moot points because the move wouldn’t hurt the other games - It may even help them.
The situation is very dire in some rural/suburban areas and I hope this example sheds a light on how unfortunate things can be. For one minor mistake in nominating to permantly doom an area to less playability forever is really unfair and demonstrates a clear need for either reform to the rules and/or more careful, individualized consideration for isolated circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Your nomination is at a resort in West Atlantic City; this doesn’t compare to rural and suburban areas. There literally dozens of way spots 2 miles to the east and 2 miles to the west of you. The area is “barren” because it’s a short and tiny strip of land connecting Atlantic city to the mainland.
“West Atlantic City” isn’t actually a city/urban area - It’s a neighborhood of Egg Harbor Township, a suburb. You are mischaracterizing a large area as a “resort” when the “resort” is only a small part of it. The nearby areas you are referring to are not within walking distance.
I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make - That this area and the people who live and work there shouldn’t have local playability because they can walk two miles along a highway when they want to play?
It doesn’t look like the Lakes Bay Recreational Association has been nominated yet. They look to have trails and kayaks among other things/activities that could be eligible.
Similar with the Lakes Bay Preserve.
You’re right, thank you. But both of these potential Wayspots are in seperate L14 cells, seperate from one another and from the L14 cell where the fountain and the lion are located, which further speak to how sparse this area is and the tragedy of a tiny mistake preventing the creation of new Pokestops and gyms (as well as Ingress portals).
I’d go down and explore both of them. There may be multiple items at these locations. It never hurts to check.
Possible items:
- trail head(s)
- Boat launch
- Pier
- Flora and fauna educational signs
Is there any signage about the preserve in the next cell. It would be tough without a sign.
I can’t tell if this could be considered an entrance to the preserve.
The pool on Sanderling lane seems to be a communal facility and is eligible.
Next to the post boxes on dunlin lane there is a community notice board
I’m saying all these as a U.K. based person and I recognise that while there would be no problem about these in the U.K. walking around these in USA might not be so easy.
But there is potential.
Well, I appreciate the help from you both.
No problem. Do ask if you need more advice.
