Hello there, this is my first time posting. I started submitting Wayspots last month. This nomination I submitted was rejected because of a low quality photo. I’m going to go back and take more photos to resubmit but we’re these photos really that bad?
I also don’t think this is a low quality photo, but someone may have due to the slight glare on the left. To me, that glare doesn’t obstruct anything on the sign, as I can read it clearly.
One thing that I do with all of my photos to help will glare is remaster them, which more camera apps have these days. It does small fixes to the photos, and this could help in the future. This means taking your photos before nominating, which is allowed, and taking before nomination allows you to take several photos before choosing the best one.
Keep in mind that reviewers may not have liked your nomination and just picked an easy rejection reason. You obscured the text, so we don’t know what that said. It could have been that they weren’t convinced by the nomination and picked the easy rejection reason.
I do usually take new photos and resubmit the first time something I believe is eligible is rejected. The other option is to appeal. You get two appeals, each on a 15 day counter before you can use it again. Without seeing the rest of the nomination, I can’t advise on whether you should appeal. The appeal button will return when you have one available.
If I were submitting this, i would back up just a bit for the main photo to include the whole sign and a little context around it.
You must understand that even eligible nomination sometimes got rejected. It can be for various reason so dont be discouraged to resubmit it, if you are SURE that it fit wayfarer category and not because its convenient to have wayspot in that location.
I think a question to consider is how it fitted with the title, the description and even the supplementary. It may be that reviewers felt the photo didn’t actually match what you were writing and so was not suitable.
As others have said, there may be other issues with the submission that are causing the rejection and sometimes it comes back with some weird rejection reasons.
If I am being really picky, I think your lens could do with a clean which might reduce the glare. Try to get the POI in the centre of the photo as cropping can make things look weird. I’d recommend a 1:1 ratio for Wayfarer photos as that seems to work well across most games. It’s a tiny bit dull, you could pass the photo through an HDR filter or similar to increase vibrancy and contrast. But I don’t see anything in the photo that would actually cause me to reject it.
