Hello! This Wayspot submission got rejected because ‘The submission lacks uniqueness or historical and cultural meaning’, personally I do think it is unique and has cultural meaning, as art does. I am wondering if people here agree with me, and if you don’t, I would love to know why so I can better understand going forward

This was an “our team” decision which means Niantic reviewed it. We can’t always get inside their head to understand why they review the way they do. But we also can’t see what description you wrote, which is part of the evaluation.
My gut feeling is to question if this is “corporate art” that can be found in many places. It’s hard to tell from these images.

Ah! I missed that. I usually skip the map images when the placement isn’t relevant to the rejection.

It appears that this rejection reason is what is displayed when “Generic Business” is selected, so I do think they rejected this as just corporate art.
(Side note, I wish the rejection reasons just said what was selected and didn’t have to be interpreted. Another side note, I wish they did not have “Generic Business” as a rejection reason. It had been removed in the previous review flow.)

Is your nomination an original artwork OR a window display poster in a bookstore that can be changed as required?
It is the former.
Personally, I find the image hard to read. If you decide to submit this again, I recommend getting a closer photo which focuses on the primary poem text as your main photo. Then the other photos of the entire panel and the store to support it. You can also add to the supporting description that it is permanent public facing display. That really helps me as a reviewer. I hope that helps you!
