I’ve tried to nominate some of the green spaces but they’ve been rejected. Any advice on getting an open green space successfully nominated would be great. Happy to start a new thread if that’s more appropriate.
W3W are aware of this and the W3W coordinates are not intended to locate someone anywhere on the world, but within a region. If someone rings the emergency services and says they are at ///drums.pines.parks, it’s ridiculously easy to identify which of the locations they are at.
They could have used a wider vocabularly to get uniqueness globally, but this would have used unusual and uncommon words, resulting in other problems.
It depends a lot on what the green space is. Some are just random patches of grass between housing that is mown by the council but has no intended function. A green space with seating and other features has potential.
Hi,
can you take some pictures of the entrance areas in particular.
If there is a spot that defines an entrance it will help. As a footpath goes past one side there may be some of the yellow footpath markers.
This details the situation with parks.
It will help if the local government website cites it as a park.
To add to this, some sort of gap in fencing, structure at the entrance, very clear path etc can help.
I have got a few signless park entrances accepted, but its very inconsistent and annoying to do so. Here are some examples of successes.
