So I took a lot of time taking good photos and creating really good description and supplemental information. A guaranteed accepted nomination, however the results came back as duplicate.
Now to be honest, I don’t doubt it, probably is a duplicate. However in Pokémon Go, it’s not a pokestop. I understand not all accepted waypoint become pokestops in Pokémon go.
But to save me time and energy in the future, is there a way to double check accepted waypoints? The ones that show up in Pokémon Go and the ones that are accepted but aren’t in the game? I really don’t wanna waste time uploading more duplicates.
The best way is to turn on the toggle in the nomination map screen in pogo. That shows all Wayspots that aren’t being used in Pokemon Go as exclamation points. But it only works for a very small range, so you need to check while you are right at the site.
If you want more information about how to tell if something will become a pokestop, I recommend this article: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
and I use iitc with a pogotools overlay to check if the cell is empty. I will still submit though, even if it isn’t, but is good to know if I am running out of nominations and have to prioritize. It looks like this:
What @elijustrying has screenshotted is not available for general wayfarer users.
To explain, there were originally plans to have a Wayfarer app, but whilst this was released in beta, it was only made available to Lightship Developers and Wayfarer Ambassadors (like Eli). Unfortunately, the Wayfarer team decided to discontinue the app, and on Android devices it’s already no longer usable. The iOS version will suffer the same fate as well at some point soon. It is a shame as it was a very useful app with a good UI.
Yes as @hankwolfman has described. I thought it might be useful to show what it is really like there in terms of other wayspots. And you can see your photo.
Being that this is already a Wayspot and doesn’t seem to meet the S2 density rules for PoGo, that doesn’t mean it may not be used as a Power Spot. Power Spots are a mix of imports and unused Wayspots. You may want to see the clarification on them, as this could show up from time to time as a Power Spot.
And yes, I’m a PoGo only Wayfarer, and many of my approved Wayspots didn’t become stops/gyms, but I’m ok with that once I learned what we are doing with Wayfarer. If someone from Ingress gets a portal, I’m cool wth that. If the Wayspot doesn’t get used at all, well, it could be used by developers.
Lastly, the slider to turn on and off Wayspots on the location screen is super helpful in PoGo.
