Could a basic park get accepted

I got this park rejected and I’m wondering if I could get it accepted.

A bit of information about the place, it used to be a proper park with loads of play equipment about 10 years ago but the equipment got removed for a much more worse park (read the description of my nomination for what replaced the old park). 52.986535,-1.199453 Those are the coordinates. If you look on google maps and change the years anywhere from 2008 - 2015 you can see an actual play area/park and after that it slowly started to get removed for this much more boring play area.

Could this still get accepted?

I saw that and thought that it looked scruffy, but the “brick ladders” referred to in the submission looked like a good enough thing to anchor on… so I voted to approve.

Thats what happens when the councils bankrupt and is spending any money they have on building a new shopping centre.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they removed the play area because they had to spend money on maintaining it.

This looks like a voice tube thingie, I’ve seen those accepted. Assuming it’s still in the park…

They are but i thought that they wouldn’t be the best thing as a anchor for the park as people would’ve thought that it’s just a metal pole

I don’t what the title is, but in absence of a Park name, could you call it something like Japonica Drive Park (assuming you haven’t done so already)?

Parks without any amenities should be acceptable (in principle), but not sure how I would sell it. If you have an appeal, would it be worth appealing it? May be worth stating that there are no amenieis (swings, basketball / tennis courts, etc) that you could nominate.

The red and yellow tubes that @shritwod mentioned looks interesting, but I don’t know much about these, so can’t comment.

I called it Goldcrest Road Park

I just used one last week so I’ll have to wait some time before doing that so I’ll probably just nominate a improved version of it.

They are things you talk through and what you say comes out the other one so the other person can hear what you just said and they can also talk back to you through it.

That’s fair. I wasn’t sure what it was called. If you do submit the tubes, good luck and hope they get approved.

Thanks. When I nominate this I’ll probably just get a photo of the snake instead of the park as a whole and call it something like brick snake floor art because you can clearly see it on streetview and i guess it’s artistic

If you manage to get the main park accepted somehow, then you could try to have the other POIs added in addition tp that. I do think - scruffiness aside - that there’s potential.

That park occupies the whole cell so there’s no point. There’s plenty of other things to nominate in the area though as it’s a pretty big part of the city with barely any wayspots and next to that play area there used to be a massive colliery so im sure there’s something i can nominate there aswell.

It is one park and therefore 1 wayspot.
It is a separate POI from Goldcrest Road open space.
But this should have been accepted. It’s a park and I bet the kids like it just as much no matter how scruffy.
It’s the people that rejected it that I would be looking at.
It should be listed on the council website.
I like the snake and ladders.
You could could tidy it up a bit before taking the pic.

It’s listed on there website but only on a word document, which is odd.

I don’t live around there and I would rather not take garden tools on a bus😆

I’ve taken a mop with me and a trowel …… but ok that might be too far :joy:

A link to the word document sounds ok.

Thinking about it now I would probably look normal if i take some big garden tool on a nottingham bus. I have seen some weird things on those buses.

I’ve been called many things… but never a… oh wait… as in Garden Tool. Gotcha.

I suspect that if you resubmitted it, it would have a good chance of approval.

As I said, the voice tubes are things I have seen accepted before. The ladder is potentially acceptable, but I think harder to get approved. Maybe a tighter crop.

Of course the best option is to fix the council’s financial woes and get the park restored to how it should be. Sounds simple enough
