Disappearence of my live Pokestop

Hello everyone,

One of the Wayspots in my neighborhood has recently disappeared from Pokémon GO, even though it is still shown as Accepted in Niantic Wayfarer.

The affected Wayspot is:

Name: Let op! Verkeersstoeptegel

Location: Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands

Approximate coordinates: 52.1354841, 4.6519579

This Wayspot:

  • is located on a publicly accessible pedestrian path
  • is clearly visible and accurately placed on the sidewalk tiles (as shown in the original submission)
  • is safe to access for pedestrians

This Wayspot previously appeared as a PokéStop in Pokémon GO but disappeared without any clear reason. I have not received any rejection or removal notification, nor am I aware of any guideline violations that would justify its removal. In Wayfarer, the Wayspot still shows the status Accepted.

Could someone from the Niantic team please look into why this Wayspot is no longer appearing in Pokémon GO and whether it can be restored?

I can say that the Wayspot appears to have been retired by Niantic, as there is no Wayspot visible at that location (i.e. it’s not just a ‘Pokemon Go’ issue).

The ‘Accepted’ status on Wayfarer is not a live status that reflects the current status of the Wayspot. It will not change when the Wayspot is retired.

Generally, the original submitter is not notified of a removal unless they are receiving a warning for abuse.
