I actually think it is a huge improvement that the rejection now clearly states that it was from the automated process. It used to only say “Wayfarer criteria.” I agree it would be nice if it could give us more information about what triggered it, but they can’t give too much more about what the ML model looks at or people will abuse it. They have already had to turn off ML accepts. IDK if you were submitting during that glorious time of 24 hour accepts
I wish we were able to vote that things didnt adhere to wayfarer criteria too it might help all the people who are confused as to why their very obviously permanent item was voted temporary
Well let’s clear that up by concluding that an explicitly temporary advertisement meets the permanence criterion:
Agree. It’s way better than “Wayfarer criteria.”
ugh. there is no reaction here for ugh.
I really miss this haha.
The nomination appears to be non-existent.
This appears to be a newer one coming from ML. See this thread:
Added, thanks! I’ve taken the french original, if you see someone posting the english version please let me know
I think we have seen them all by now. I love the new one that clearly tells you it was rejected by the “automated process”. That gives us something to work with on the presentation of the the nomination.
But for the rest, why don’t they simply tell us what rejection reasons reviewers chose? That would be so much clearer. Even if they only want to go one level into the checklists, that would tell us which part of the nomination was causing issues.
Yes I do think so too. If they don’t add a new one that should be all.
But I think that they’re doing exactly what you’re suggesting, taking what have been choosen. Only at reason #15 and #21 I’ve some doubts. But if I remember correctly there’s the opportunity to give “more” feedback (do someone read our comments).
And the evergreen “permanent and distinct” still causes issues.
I specifically have problems with this, which seems to indicate “Generic business” was chosen:
and this which we seem to see when “third party photo” is chosen:
We can’t even reject for this, so when does this appear? Niantic in house review?
I really want to know what to choose as a rejection to send this message to all those folks who catch their reflections in the photo, but I don’t want to intentionally submit one myself to see, or is this also an in-house only rejection?
The following is only assumption time by Alice, not given facts!:
#1 is not distinct (however they separated them)
#6 I’d guess is when you choose accuracy no → abuse → last point. Here it’s in german:
Ok #18 I’ve found nothing relatable but #21 could be accuracy no → bad photo → submitter identifiable to make it diffrent to body parts, here again in german:
I don’t believe so. The nominations I have had rejected for this reason have been exercise businesses. They have been appealed and accepted and I can’t show you that now. But this one (which has been accepted with a different photo, which is why I didn’t appeal) shows
Reviewers provided these top reasons for not accepting this submission:
- The submission is likely not permanent or distinct
So I do not think that they split up “Temporary” from “Distinct” - reviewers don’t get to comment or check which they mean here, so I don’t see how the rejection reason could be split up.
were these community decisions?
Yes it stays assumptions. It has ever been a problem to reject for being “generic”. Generic business or temporary / not distinct?
Yes
Is your language setting english and your submission aswell?
English
So how hard would it be to just tell us what the top reasons reviewers selected to reject were instead of these interpretations? It seems like it would be simpler and more useful.
