Flowers mural

It was a good submission. Not my fault reviewers don’t like them. I had 50+ stops go though

To be fair, the tight crop and the supporting not showing the item are 2 red flags for fake PoIs. Not suggesting yours is fake-as DTrain was able to find it, but you can definitely do a better job of helping reviewers decide to accept.

To be fair a lot of mine go through. It’s just a few that don’t I was asking for help. I wanted to find an ambassador really

We love helping. I’m not an ambassador but you’ve had some advice from some of the best wayfarers I know already :yellow_heart: and I am fairly sure all the ambassadors would say the same on this advice. Good luck with it

Yes but I’ve shown the road on other ones and they gone thru

You were lucky- they must have been easily visible on satellite or street view meaning your supporting picture was not important for showing the location.

Would suggest you change the method going forward as it will help for cases where street view isnt available or is out of date

Supporting photos should include more than just the Wayspot. Make sure it provides some surrounding context to help justify its uniqueness, outstanding qualities, or historical context. Make sure the actual Wayspot is still within the view.

It all depends what I nominate though. So many signs rejected. So have to keep on doing them. Appeals do help sometimes. But street view should be updated so more would go through for other people having trouble just like I did

The method you have been suggested is completely correct. You will incur way less rejections if the object is included in the supporting photo. This may be less of a problem for reviewers if there are other ways of confirming the location, but in the event where it is not obvious on Street View it’s especially important to include the object in the supporting photo.

I would suggest following the advice given by experienced users above - it is completely uncontroversial, and there isn’t a single situation where it may be incorrect.

My record is 9 rejections before an acceptance! My nominations got better though. Taking good advice definitely helps :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Wayfarer has no control over when Google Street View gets updated. Again, that’s up to Google. My rural hometown hasn’t had much of an update since 2012, but I’ve still been able to get new POIs approved as Wayspots by showing the POI and surrounding area in the supporting photo.

You found one :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

And based in the U.K.

The onus is on the submitter to make a good submission- make it easy for the reviewer to go looks eligible, I can see this is where it is :+1:

Even if a supporting photo does not help the reviewer many will check around for clues that it is where it is supposed to be.
So previously there must have been enough there.

But in this case with the tight crop you can’t tell where it is. And if the supporting is not helping then most will tick something like inaccurate location.

The help we are giving is how to turn this around and make it easy to agree it. I appreciate it has not been your previous practice but please consider changing.
I would love to be able to get something like this to review.

I would love if ppl would stop staying in my rejections. It’s not permanent. When U can see it is as it’s on a pole in the ground. I’ve done bridges, murals, footpaths, lots of different signs. Some signs several times. Others too

The flower shop has been there many years. One of the people Replying found it. But it’s not been updated on street view

That rejection reason is “not permanent or not distinct”

So it doesn’t necessarily mean thr reviewers thought it was temporary, it could mean they thought it was not distinct enough and didn’t meet wayfarer criteria.

Yes but they are allowed. They do go through. Otherwise they wouldn’t be in the categories

The Categories is not a list of acceptable waypoints. It includes the BIG NO of School…

What categories - do you mean the categories in the “what is it” part of the submission?

Those don’t mean anything for eligibility- and contain things that are specifically not eligible like schools

I think I would find even stuff next to a school goes through

Next to a school but not at a school can be okay. But actually on school grounds is ineligible
