Well, the nomination was rejected by the automated process (trained on selected historical data), and “for not adhering to Wayfarer criteria” means a funeral home sign isn’t considered a great place to explore, exercise, or be social — which seems correct.
Even if its not rejected by AI, its still considered sensitive location.
Cemeteries & Other Sensitive Locations
Sensitive locations such as funeral homes, burial grounds, cemeteries, and graveyards should generally be avoided out of respect, but gravestones belonging to historical figures or significant community figures can be eligible if the nominator provides evidence for their historical importance.
You might want to reread wayfarer criteria before submitting. If you believe this is not correct, you are free to resubmit, but i wont bet on it.
I would like for you to articulate how you think this meets criteria.

Funeral homes are considered sensitive locations, including their signage, and sensitive locations are ineligible. You also nominated this as the funeral home, not the sign, but it still would be ineligible due to it being on the grounds of the funeral home.
I would highly recommend reviewing the Wayspot Criteria to know what may or may not be eligible. You may also want to take a look at the Criteria Clarification Collection, as it covers some of the most common POIs that have been discussed about.

From the game play perspective I can see why you wish to get more stops onto the gameboard. I can also understand why it might feel that way from the way it appears in the game.
However that is not the driver of wayfarer which is about exploring to find places and objects that meet the broad criteria of
A great place to explore
A great place to exercise
A great place to socialise
Sometimes there are just no eligible objects.
Although you take a phot of the sign that is a visual anchor for the actual premises and the pin should be on the building not the sign. This is just not the place that should be considered.
Just because there is a sign along a street does make it fit the criteria, And it is important that you don’t try to twist what you have to try and make it fit.
There are a few exceptions and that is around the sign in its own right having artistic merit
Unique Art.
But even if highly artistic a funeral home should not be on the wayfarer map or the gameboard.
You are welcome to post other places you might want to consider before submitting.
