I just think it was a way of saying “your contribution was so small as to be worth almost nothing, so your reward matches”
I think it would be nice to re run this during northern hemisphere summer time so that it would not be dark an hour or more before I finish work, and would have the option to add images as well as doing other edits. The timing was really bad for me - I had wanted to go out and spend time doing edits but the weather and darkness meant I didn’t have much opportunity

I had forgotten how low they were tbh
I did remember that only the top tier had any merit
And I think thats just because it visually goes onto another line, because actually, 2 supers is also pretty low
For reference for anyone who doesn’t play Go, I buy incubators by the 100
I understand your frustrations, and I am sure it’s shared by a lot of people. As @PkmnTrainerJ pointed out, we did know about the rewards at the start. I didn’t share my confusion at the low rewards based on the personal targets at the start, but am grateful that we got something.
I have to say, I don’t really pay attention to the lower individual tiers as I’m always aiming for the top one for the OPR Live tick.
I’ll happily take free stuff for improving the map though.

Is the tick thing like a badge in Go? We dont even get that, which would be a nice memento
I do feel like this was really an ingress or dual game challenge. For Ingress, people didnt have to wander around in the dark and get rained on in order to participate to the highest level.
It is this badge.
It existed in Ingress before Wayfarer was called Wayfarer and was originally a paid badge where you would pay to have Niantic review a certain amount of your nominations on-site at an Anomaly (in person Ingress event) to get a quicker decision on them.
Obviously now we have ML, and generally quicker turnaround time, the Ingress team announced they were linked to challenges.
I know before some Ingress players said they didn’t think the Ingress rewards were on par with Pokémon GO ones for the Challenges, so if you want a badge like it on Pokémon GO, maybe start a new topic here and raise it via the Pokémon GO app?
Same for if you want distance editing like Ingress has. It’s worth noting there are a few Wayfarer things Ingress doesn’t have that Pokémon GO does such as the duplicates map when nominating and category selection when nominating, as well as the free text box when reporting a Wayspot for removal and I’ve requested these in Ingress several times.

More similarity between the games for both rewards and features would be nice. Ingress should have the duplicates map.

I don’t spend money on the game but I also felt the individual rewards were not worth extra effort. I was mainly submitting photos. This meant I had very little time between the short hours of daylight and the weather conditions
I walked miles but having crawled past 100 that was enough for me as an individual.
But we all have our own reactions and value items differently as to what is reward worthy.
We dont normally get anything useful as a reward for doing wayfarer so this was a bonus is how I view it.

If they rerun, I am not participating. At least without clear guidelines on what they consider spam.

Waits for the official response stating taking multiple photos of the same subject is spam. At this point, I’m going to back away (For a few moments), just in case.

I feel this time around they have been closer. It felt like there was a bias towards better rewards in Pokémon GO for the last few Challenges personally.
But we don’t have a medal or tick mark… Cries
But you got 5 Rare Candies!
I have no idea what value medals serve in Pokémon GO so not sure of the purpose?
I know in Ingress once you hit L8 you need medals to go further in levels
In most cases it doesn’t. But I suspect that if and when Niantic decide to push the next set of levels, they may ask for x number of medals to be achieved…
I got 4 rare candies yesterday for walking 2 routes……
Nothing like the level of effort needed for the challenge.
