Global Edit Challenge - Discussion, Rules, and Prizes!

Yes rare candy is really not very special anymore. Rare XL candy is!

I forgot that Platinum is the highest medal available. Doesn’t seem it comes up too much.

I think I am L46 and didn’t really notice needing the medals for the lower levels as they were already ticked off versus Ingress where you have to grind some and decide which ones to aim for based on how you play.

A lot of us are expecting onyx medals for pogo next…

I am sure I will automatically have the “Wayfarer” one if they do =)

If we wanted to do photos, Ingress people still had to go to the location to take them during optimal weather and lighting. I do understand your point about title and description edits. But about half my edits were photos which i took after the challenge was announced.

I didnt have any optimal lighting at all. Not a chance I was improving any images other than by increasing resolution by way of new camera phone vs 7 year old images. I contributed a few pictures on 1 day where there was a break in the clouds for about an hour. Similarly I didnt go out specifically to do other edits, just did what was nearby when I was doing other things

Its November. I had fog, rain, and greyness, or darkness. It doesnt get light in the morning till maybe 7:30, and its dark by 4:30. In the summer its light before 5am and stays light till 10pm. I’m not even that far north, people further up there’s almost no light at all.

Yeah, i know that’s rough. I assume there’s no perfect time for everyone globally. Our summer will be winter for those below the equator. I guess it would have been better even just a month earlier?

Because summer here is unbearable. I wouldn’t want to run this during the middle of our summer.

If it cheers you up a bit…

This was one not a million miles away… No way I could get to the basketball hoop…

This one… I didn’t check the weather forecast and got drenched whilst subbing some new wayspots.

I have plenty of excuses…

Yeah, September/early October would be better, days wouldn’t be as short and a lot less murky grey weather! Or alternatively in spring.

Can understand not height of summer too. I hate the heat. But the pictures have a higher chance of looking nice!

Love the soggy pictures! You got a nice reflection on the first one!

The first one ended up as a featured image. No idea why to be honest.

Welcome to the community. The rewards are currently being distributed in batches and should be done as highlighted by @Im7heClown around the 29th.

Hye all,

Did you already get your rewards ? I didn’t :frowning:

I also haven’t got my rewards but I’m 99% sure that I made at least 150 edits

Maybe I haven’t gotten it yet because I play PoGO, Peridot and Ingress

Previously rewards have gone out in batches linked to the qualifying game. So it wouldn’t be surprising if the same happened again.

Just thought I’d post this, since I did get my rewards. The Edit Challenge rewards will expire on January 31, 2025, and this is noted in the email:

I know some ask about when the rewards expire, so just wanted to put it out there for those who may be wondering.

Easy to miss, but this was mentioned in the original post about the rewards.

Ive had my pogo rewards but not my ingress rewards, i assume they are doing a game by game basis? (To be clear, i use different login methods for ingress (google log in) and pokemon go (facebook login), this is for personal reasons)

Typically they do PoGo only rewards first, then Ingress only rewards second, and PoGo and Ingress combined rewards last. I don’t know if any Ingress only players have received rewards yet, as I’m a PoGo only player. Niantic also said all rewards would be sent out by November 29, so there is still time.
