It doesnt matter. Mosque management can request it if they feel disturb by pokemon go activity

There is no link for anyone to provide if a property owner has requested a wayspot be removed, downgraded (from gym to pokestop) or disabled. This can only be confirmed by Niantic if they choose to comment on this thread.
There are two Pokemon Go gyms slightly to the west which are using up the allocation of gyms in Pokemon Go, so no further gyms are possible at present. This will remain as a pokestop.
Since it already turn to pokestop, i dont think it will return as gym. Anyway just because it was gym for long time, doesnt mean it cant be reported now. Some pokemon go activity might disturb them recently and make them do the report.
Niantic staff might comment later , if you want to wait
Looking at the Ingress Intel Map, it appears that the Wayspot has moved. Its previous coordinates were “41.012141, 28.819001.” When the location of a Wayspot being used as a Gym in Pokémon GO changes, the Gym generation process restarts. Since the new location already has the maximum number of Gyms, it likely started appearing as a PokéStop.

To visualise what @CrownFeather stated…
- The pin is the location that it was at in the days when Pokemon Go and Ingress belonged to the same company.
- Since then the waypoint has moved left to the purple circle.
- Not only has this moved to a different S2L17 (small) cell but also to a different S2L14 (large) cell.
- The left L14 cell will have already had the correct amount of Gyms which is why this became a pokestop.
- A new Gym will have been created in the area to the right of this screenshot.
