Gym move rejected on appeal, should I submit again?

Still new at this so I’m not sure if I’m missing something or this is an error. This Gym is ment to be the library that’s the large building next to it. The location is nearly in the street. Should I submit another move request? Chatham area district library is the gym for the record.

do you have a general address for this so we can look at it on a map? if this is a sign for the library, it seems like it may be in the right position.

(some people might find this without the address, but i am finding too many Chatham area libraries)

I forgot to welcome you to the forum! Welcome!

If this is the gym, then it appears to be in the correct place at the sign.

The picture is the sign but the name of the gym does not list it as such. The issue I have most with it is that it’s so close to the road. I felt like the way it was labeled and the nearness to the road as a gym made it a candidate to be moved. And yes that is it.

Thank you for the welcome

I do not see a reason to move this Wayspot. It is on the object that is featured. The sign represents the Library and is an accurate place for the pin. It does not appear to have unsafe pedestrian access where it is. If access is not safe, the correct procedure would be to ask for the Wayspot to be removed, not moved for easier access.

That looks like the only photo for that Wayspot. I would encourage you to submit a better one.

If a Wayspot is in a wrong position, I always encourage people to move it. But just to make it easier to access, is not a valid reason to move it. And moving it may make the gym go away if you don’t understand S2 cells.

If it was on the front entrance of the library It would be in the same cell/area as the Friends Bookstore and the memorial bench so might not show in Go.

It would mean the Monarch Waystation, in the same cell currently as the library, would appear and be in Go but as far as I’m aware moving a Wayspot that’s a gym to an already occupied cell would make it disappear now.

Personally I’d leave it as better the devil you know.

I don’t know which shows in pogo, but these two portals are both in the same L17 S2 cell as the library entrance so only one of them will be a pokestop. I think the first one probably from your screenshot.

If you want more information about how Pokemon Go uses S2 cells, this is a great article:

Thank you both for the responses. This is what I was looking for. I’ll contact some other local players and see how they feel, but most likely will leave it be. Thanks again for the explanations.

I would agree with the others that this is not a waypoint that needs moving, as the sign is a valid location. I would not sacrifice a gym for an unneeded move.

I also would be a bit careful about telling local players that you’re the one making stuff disappear/considering this as people can get very nasty about gyms especially.

I personally prefer to leave things alone if an edit will remove them from the game. My goal is to make my game better, not worse. Some will say that is wrong but it’s my choice what to work on in wayfarer and I’d prefer to improve things without causing them to vanish
