I nominated this pokestop (chapel) but got rejected because it is deemed as duplicate. Where infact there are no existing pokestop in the exact spot where this nomination is located. I already appealed but still was not accepted? Howcome?
Can you please provide the coordinates of this nomination?
Also, did you check whether it was already in the database but not able to show up in Pokémon Go due to the proximity rules? You are nominating a wayspot for the Lightship database, contrary to what is written in Pokémon Go, and not all wayspots in the database are able to be added to all of Niantic games, as each game has a proximity rule to determine what is and isn’t able to be added to that game.
Hello!
Unfortunately, the chapel already exists on the Lightship map and is in the same cell as the Sitio San Antonio Basketball Court so it won’t appear in Pokémon GO.
Here is the Chapel’s portal in Ingress
Here is the Chapel’s location in relation to the Basketball Court.
When you are nominating in Pokémon GO and you go to select the location on the map you will see all existing Wayspots, the ones that don’t appear in Pokémon GO will appear as little red pins and if you tap on it the wayspot will be displayed. This lets you see if your nomination is already in the Lightship database.
It can be frustrating to find things to nominate for Pokémon GO only not to have them show up on the gameboard, but remember when you nominate points of interest you are nominating them for the Lightship map, and its inclusion on the Pokémon GO gameboard is reliant on it meeting the games inclusion rules.
Sorry about your nomination, but I hope this information helps you.
I myself am not high enough level in Pokemon go to access nominations. However I am level ten in ingress, is there a way to see such information on ingress? Is there a separate app that can provide such information? I kinda feel like there should be a separate app that could be used to give more information on things like distance between wayspots, available streetview maybe build in the ability to upload a video of the area
Unfortunately, at this time it hasn’t been a priority for the Ingress team to incorporate anything to improve the Wayfarer experience.
Unfortunately, as @Gendgi mentioned, the Ingress team hasn’t added this feature to Ingress.
As for this:
We can dream that one day we’ll get something like this. It would be game changing.
