Iām Not saying that the OPR time was the bestā¦
But there must be a way to improve the quality of todays POIās
And the more submits there are, the more garbage is comming thru.
It is time to give people who proven their value more influence.
After 40.000 reviews I think I know what the criteria are.
Too bad that all the players (including all NIA games) are depending on a few users. This way too many garbage submits can come through in the games.
Contributing 40.000 reviews ā¦ and still having to get in to an argument to make a case. I was hoping for some recognizing of my efforts and experience.
Too bad the games went down to PAY - to - PLAY instead of maintaining a standard of quality
Hey there! This post was moved because it was originally posted in āForum Suggestions,ā which is for things about the structure of the forums themselves. The topic at hand is about both reporting and reviewing, so āReview Supportā is a better area for this to be posted because there is no āRemoval Supportā area of the forum. Please feel free to keep talking about both how to review or remove these, if appropriate!
As long as it helps I am okay with it.
The question remainsā¦ Is there a way to remove direction markers from Trail-markers ?
Cause a ācrossroad-knooppuntā is a true trailmark-sign
and those directions arrows are just garbage

I am an Ingress and POGO player.
And mentioning the difference between both games is a fact. It is not offensive.
Nothing offensive about it, just naming the fact.
I just ask about a way to flag inappropriate suggestions which relate to Trailmarks. How hard can it be ? But it is a difficult question i guess, so I get a Flag ?
after 40k reviews ? get realā¦ I think I know the rules better than 80% in here
instead of AI, use 4 minutes of your time in an online call ā¦
it would have saved you already 10 minsā¦
and you understood all of it.
untill now everything is based on assumptions.
feel free to use Microsoft Teams or Googleā¦ Iām better with spoken language than written. since English isnāt my main language

Surely thatās down to Niantic to fix and not individuals irrespective of which game they play if there is a problem?
Too bad the games went down to PAY - to - PLAY instead of maintaining a standard of quality
Does Ingress not have a subscription fee?
I can and mostly do play Go without spending any money.
As someone with over 40,000 reviews and somewhere around 8 or 9 hundred accepted P0kest0ps I donāt expect any recognition just a working system would be nice at this point.
Hey, Iām not quite sure what happened in regard to the flag, but I think a misunderstanding has happened here. I was trying I explain why the post was moved to a different part of the forum and I meant no disrespect to you at all. If it came across that way I apologize.
Hi @jaapdr
To make a quick response:
You can report existing wayspot by using the link at the top of this page, or report via helpchat (wayfarer menue ā help ā click the orange icon).
At the end Niantic decides

This topic has been placed in slow mode as posts were becoming heated and disrespectful. Please take the opportunity to take a breather and reflectā¦
We donāt have a voice channel so typed dialogue is what we use.
@jaapdr it is an interesting question whether a certain review rate or length of review history should be considered of value when weighing a wayfinders judgement on a nomination.
Sheer volume may not be a very good indicator of someone correctly reviewing to the criteria. On its own it is simply about quantity not quality.
The rating that we have is based on agreements and disagreements in theory it is closer to reflecting if someone is aligning with the criteria and the community. However it can have issues.
I donāt think there is an easy solution, if it was even wanted.
If you find wayspots during review that you feel ought to be reported rather than rejected then there are 2 places you can do this.
If itās about other wayspots seen in the duplicate check or in real life you can use the report abuse form at the top of the forum. Niantic will then judge the cases sent to them.
With regards to trailmarkers the criteria clarification already cited above does a lot to tease out some of the key considerations. A critical point around which there are a number of misconceptions is the trail marker itself. The actual marker is acting as an anchor point for the trail. It is the trail that is important. The markers pick out decision points and aid exploration by enabling the trail to be followed. The markers can themselves can be very non-descript as long as they can be associated with an official specific route. As the criteria clarification shows these can be quite basic in appearance.
The principles in the criteria clarification are the ones that should be applied when answering the questions. There can be grey areas open to interpretation as to whether the marker is assisting the following of a specific defined pathway or if it is saying that if you go in a certain direction you will reach a specific place. A lot of wayfarer comes down to judgement calls around grey areas, and wayfinders have to be comfortable that there will be variability in the outcomes. There is no simple absolute right or wrong.
Finally criteria and the interpretation of it does shift over time. This why the Wayfarer Team have provided the clarification section as a repository of the current situation on some key topics.
I hope I addressed how to report.
I have tried to tease out what the situation is as described in the clarification around trail markers.
I hope this helps.
Iāve made signs for official trails that didnt have them before, it wasnt for wayspot-submitting purposes. Soon the summit area on one trail is gonna be cleared and a lean-to + picnic area will be built.
If these are legit like the ones Trollfarer mentioned for actual routes, then I think they meet criteria. If they are fake and a trail does not exist there, then you should report them for removal.
