I need clarification regarding a recent nomination that was rejected as a duplicate

Could someone please confirm whether a Wayspot that is visible in Wayfarer but not active in Pokémon GO can still trigger a duplicate rejection? I would like to better understand if this is expected behaviour within Niantic’s database system.

Hi, yes , what you described is true, what is not live in Pokemon Go but in the databse, is still a duplicate. The inlcusion rules have not changed.

Yes, you are submitting wayspots to the wayfarer map, not just pokestops to pokemon go. So if it already exists on the map, it most likely will be marked as a duplicate. Look for those orange pins on the map when you are submitting. If your wayspot is represented, there’s no need to submit it again.
