Hello! I am KOWLOONsGT, a perpetual beginner. I want Japanese users to feel more comfortable using this nomination support board. I would be happy to receive advice that is fun, positive, and not overly formal. Let’s learn from each other in a friendly way
I would like advice on the following three points:
1. What do you think was the reason for the reject?
2. How can I improve it to get accepted on the first try?
3. What arguments are most likely to lead to success when filing an appeal?
(4. Any other advice that leads to acceptance)
Title: 119 Monzen-nakacho Eitaibashi Ukiyo-e Panel
Description: The Ukiyo-e panel titled “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo: Eitaibashi and Tsukudajima” by Utagawa Hiroshige, displayed in the lobby of the Toyoko INN Monzen-nakacho Eitaibashi, is a work from around 1857.
Supporting information: It is also featured on the official Instagram account of the Toyoko INN Monzen-nakacho Eitaibashi branch. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJiDiImT_d1/?img_index=1&igsh=MTFmZ2szMmxhc2drZA==
Coordinates: 35.674979, 139.791008
Reviewers provided these top reasons:
・The submission is likely not permanent or distinct
・The submission lacks uniqueness or historical and cultural meaning
Points I focused on for this nomination: Since it is an indoor candidate, it cannot be verified via Google Maps satellite imagery or Street View. To clearly show the reviewer that it exists and to provide the accurate coordinates, I carefully prepared four supplementary photos. I ran out of steam after that (lol).
I thought this candidate had obvious eligibility that could be understood at a glance, so I put little effort into the description. I think that was a mistake. However, I am not sure what else I should have explained. I would appreciate any advice you could give me.
Postscript
Information I added after the reject:
Only the parts marked with yellow lines in the images are reprinted.
“In front of the reception desks at Toyoko Inn locations nationwide, Ukiyo-e prints related to the local area are displayed! There is not a single one that is the same across the country! Amazing!”
“A Ukiyo-e print featuring the store number (57) is on display!”
