Additional Information (if any):
This site is a private residence. While it does contain 2 apartments that are used for holiday accommodation, the rest are used as private residence. Here is the most recent sale listing showing that it’s a private residence.
[1/544 Sandy Bay Road, Sandy Bay, Tas 7005 - Property Details]

The holiday accommodation apartments are just AirBNB apartments that also include listings on other websites. Here is there AirBNB listing.

Does the lawn still exist?
If the only issue is that it is accessible only to those in private apartments then there is no issue.
No wayspot needs to be accessible to everyone.
The private property ruling is about a single family private residential property, not a group of apartments.

The lawn does not exist. It is just a 6 bedroom private house that has been converted into apartments, some of which are rented on AirBNB and the rest are just used as long term residence. It’s accessible to everyone from the street. Sorry I didn’t realise that private houses that get divided into private apartments become acceptable.
Ah misunderstood your use of historic.
And yes if a large house is split into multiple apartments it becomes like any apartment block.

The “lawn” in question is a plaque by the front door.
Looking at Street View, not only is the plaque still there as of May 2024, but this is listed as a vacation/holiday rental on several travel websites, such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc.
So the plaque isn’t on private property, since the rooms can be rented out and multiple families can be living there at once. This actually reminds me of one of the examples in the Private Residences clarification:

Those are just AirBNB listings. They just advertise the property on multiple websites. It’s not a hotel. It’s self contained apartments that were once rented out long term, but like many long-term rentals in my city, it became more profitable to rent as short-term accommodation.
Here’s a previous rental listing

This is of course, not a shared space, but the front door to one of the three apartments.
I think you may need to provide a clearer photo of the plaque, showing exactly what it is. It’s hard to tell from the Wayspot photo and Street View what exactly it’s for.
Thanks for the appeal, @beeeeeees. We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
