A park in my town has the name of a guy that used to play (several have) instead of the actual name and I wanted to fix that. I only changed the title once, it was rejected and I appealed, explaining that it was vandalized. Welp, I got my first warning, for “Incorrect or spam edits”.
I appealed the warning, because I don’t want to have my Pokémon Go account in danger, and they responded to me with “After thorough review of your account and have concluded that your account has violated Wayfarer criteria”. Why? I’ve only edited once, to the real name. How can I get a warning for something like this?
It just makes me not to want to help anymore, since I could lose my account for doing something helpful.
Sure. It’s a small park called “Parque Correos” because a post office used to be there, in Bormujos, Spain. It’s just down the local church, so maybe someone could also have called it that way.
Someone changed it a few years ago to “Parque Músico [REDACTED]”, who is not even a musician, just a guy who used to play Pokémon Go. Several Pokéstops in my town has been vandalized that way, attributing them false names of people that played the game instead of the actual names.

I am impacted similarly, trying to update a title that may not be appropriate for today’s perspective, and the team has reversed this when shown proof of my contribution vs what I wanted to correct. I will let the team decide if we truly have similar circumstances. Please do append any proof you have supporting your claim through the appeal email replies.
From our experience, it may be that other edit contributors also get falsely attributed to the inciting abuse. I would take TjoeMi’s advice and report these as abuse first and let it resolve before the edit attempt.
