I have seen a worrying trend near where I live. I’ve nominated ~20 Wayspots in this area now, and a good amount have been accepted. For context, I live on a US military base. I got into the whole Pokéstop-making thing because there are absolutely zero Pokéstops or gyms in a 2-mile radius of where I live.
This is very confusing for multiple reasons:
I’ve had 5+ wayspots approved, and none of them have been added to the game. What’s preventing this?
I’ve found through my nomination process that there are already many wayspots already approved on this base, but none of them are in game.
The niantic wayspot criteria for nominations within military bases states: “Nominations of or within Military bases are generally ineligible. However, if the nomination is of a park or public area that is open to the residents of the base or the general public in the military base it will meet our eligibility criteria.” These wayspots have met this criteria and have already been accepted, so what could be the problem?
Please, could someone explain this phenomenon. I really hope it’s not impossible for Pokéstops to appear on military bases, otherwise I have to travel over 2 miles to reach any Pokéstop or gym at all and complete tasks associated with spinning them.
If it really is against a Niantic policy to make wayspots appear as Pokéstops on a military base, why even let them be accepted at all? Also, if this is the case, then it should be clearly stated somewhere in the Niantic Wayfarer criteria.
Note: My game is updated to the newest version, my device is updated to the newest version, I have waited 48 hours for the Pokéstops to appear, and I have restarted my phone.
There are some case in the past where property management request geoblock. If your nomination is in empty cell and it doesnt appear after 48 hours, then its likely geoblocked. You can wait here until staff give clarification
Wayfarer is run by community. The one accepting may not be niantic staff but other wayfarer like you which may not know about geoblock. Alternately geoblock can be lifted if property owner request it. Although it might be difficult in this case.
Only niantic staff know who made report but afaik niantic staff can not divulge that information. You need to ask somone with authority in your base. But know that since the example shared was happening at same time at multiple military base, i am guessing its someone with high rank.
Base Naval de Rota I assume. Rota have many wayspot but the base seems empty. I dont know who is in charge of this situation in your base. You need to ask around but honestly it maybe a long shot.
36.620670,-6.301524 is it this place?
You can wait until niantic come and confirm if its really geoblocked
