Hi, I have a question. What do you think? I live behind a sports center and I get PokéStops from my couch. Is this against the rules? The interaction range is 80m, so I’m not breaking any. Would there be any penalties?
I’m mentioning this because, as I once told a player with multiple accounts who uses third-party apps to take over everything, it’s a constant nuisance, takes up an entire area, and doesn’t let us stay there for even a minute. She also mentioned in the group that she was going to report me.
The criteria prohibits anything within SFPRP. The location guidelines in the help page and tooltip under Appropriate may better orient you towards allowed and disallowed locations.
That said, the interaction radius per game is not relevant in Wayfarer. However, property owners can request modification of wayspots in their property.
It might be better to gather verifiable evidence to report to appropriate channels regarding TOS violations. For Wayfarer abuse, the form can be filled up above.
Yes, the points are in their location, which is in the sports center, but nevertheless, the 80M interaction reaches me when I’m at home, but this person, perhaps out of envy, doesn’t want that to be possible.
Yes, all the wayspots are fine, but I don’t know why this person is so angry that I live there and have a gym nearby, and he likes to bother me all day long by taking over all the gyms that can be seen on the map.
I don’t get that play style at all. You both can stand to gain coins and manpower from gym coordination. That should gradually gold the gyms too, while maintaining a cordial relationship with the others.
Some people just like to hold gym. Maybe its their pride . I also have 1 player here that i think have 6 account because got similar name and always make full 6 player tower. He always put blissey and chansey everywhere he go..he also recharge if he found out that gym under attacked.
You have my empathy over this game play.
If they falsely try to remove wayspots as an act of harassment you can use the form at the top of this forum to report them. If they do get removed you can appeal for restoration in The appeals section of this forum.
The wayfarer team take this sort of behaviour seriously.
The aspects of gameplay within Pokémon go needs to be reported in game. Pull together as much evidence as possible. But this aspect has nothing to do with Wayfarer
I had a lot of comments during Covid from jealous local players because during lockdown I could interact with 1 gym and 5 pokestops from my home
I lived opposite a big park and next to a smaller one!
Before the interaction radius was extended I could access 1 of those out of the 6!
Some people just live near nice things and some live near other houses and not much else. That makes selfish people very angry for some reason. Its quite pathetic really.
You cant get in trouble for living next to a leisure centre! Thats just how the real world layout works in game. Lucky for you, unlucky for the others. If it massively bothered them, they could move. Or just.. I don’t know… go for a walk
Couchies can be nice, but they’re over-rated. I’ve never had an issue with running out of stuff in PoGo by just going outside and visiting the pokestops. In Ingress a couchie can be more useful to farm, especially if on holiday but there are actually a load of good reasons to not have a portal right next to your house in any case…
But in answer to the original query, as long as the wayspots are correctly placed on the POIs then it’s not abuse, just luck.
If they did try to have them removed you have the evidence that they where suitable POIs and correctly placed.
As a side note, I am 1 of the “annoyed as I can’t reach any waypoints from home”. I did think that a “must walk at least 100 metres before interacting with waypoints” rule could sort this. Please note this rule would not be acted if I ever get a “Home Gym”
