Map not loading on "Set Location" screen during PokéStop nomination

Hi everyone, I am experiencing the exact same issue and wanted to share a finding that might help the developers fix this.

I tested the nomination process on both my iPhone and iPad, and I figured out what is actually happening. It turns out the map isn’t failing to load; rather, it is suffering from a UI layout bug where the entire map is scaled down to a tiny box in the bottom-left corner.

On an iPhone, due to the narrower screen width, this tiny map gets pushed completely off-screen, making the screen look totally blank. However, on an iPad, the wider screen allows that bottom-left area to be visible. As you can see in my attached screenshot, the map is actually there, just extremely small! I could even move the pin normally inside that tiny area.

Hopefully, this information and the screenshot will help the Niantic engineering team identify and resolve this UI layout constraint issue quickly.

I hope this is fixed for you all ASAP.

The strange thing is that since the Submit page went live it would often not load the screen (Win 11 Desktop / Firefox). A couple of page refreshes would get it to work.

The last few nominations I have made it has worked 1st time

So even though I hope it is fixed for you I also hope it doesn’t break it for me

Edit: Just read the Announcement and realised the problem is within Pokemon Go not the Wayfarer page.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a bug since March 7, 2026, when trying to submit a new PokéStop in Pokémon GO.

The issue occurs at the very first step: when I try to select the location on the map, the screen stays completely blank. No map loads, so I can’t place the pin or proceed with the submission at all.

I’ve already tried restarting the app and reinstalling it, but the problem persists.

Is anyone else having this issue? Any known fixes or workarounds?

The workaround is to use the web submission interface on the Wayfarer website. I suggest trying this instead.

This problem has been for sevral days, I have tested it on sevral cellphones (Iphone with latest IOS 26.3.1, Iphone 13). I have refreshe game data in the app. Uninstall and installde pokemon go app again, restarted iphone but the same problem.
