It was just a misunderstanding I believe. Nothing bad

That was one of the conversations and that was interesting to me since I think orienteering is cool. Not that the QR code informational sign game is necessarily the same.

But then a second conversation started after that. Also interesting, but I donā€™t want to rehash yet since I think many of us read it in different ways. Hopefully it can be touched on again in a calmer setting.

But to be fair I donā€™t think the second conversation is super controversial, just there was a lot of confusion and cross talk.

You are much more eloquent than I am, :joy_cat:

It is an interesting conversation

What exactly is the role of an Ambassador?

Is it just to moderate the forum, move threads, didacticly ā€˜informā€™ users on the criteria?

Iā€™m positive they will say we do lots of other things outside the forum in discord, other social media, locally, etc

No doubt they do but if I never see that how would I know?

If you are going to have a shiny badge and a title you will be viewed differently whether you like it or not. Maybe a monthly/quarterly update. It doesnā€™t have to be that detailed.

Maybe Iā€™m just being paranoid as someone who has received at least one DM from 90% of the people who have @niantic in their name.

You make a good point! There were several ā€˜interestingā€™ conversations . I only focused on one of the additional ones. I stand corrected.

I didnā€™t read most of them tbh I was too busy plotting and dissimulating skulduggery from under my bridge.

We tend to hide behind a large pile of Ferro Rocher
Television Archive: Ferrero Rocher ambassador's reception UK TV ...
But have been known to offer them at Ambassador parties.

It does sound like it was ā€œinteresting,ā€ but maybe was going too far, not staying civil.

ā€œRepurposed?ā€

Dont fill them whit alcohol! Maybe we get more normal anwser.

In the end players come here for help and improve.
But they leave always whit more questions then they had in the beginning.

All goneā€¦.:sunglasses:

Some questions are straight forward to answer and I love the fact that this space allows for such great peer support. Wayfinders exchanging knowledge bourne out of experience and taking the chance to pass it on.
Some of those answers ā€œwhereā€™s my pokestop/portal goneā€ are not going to be easy to hear.
A large chunk of Wayfarer is not about set answers. But interpretation of guidelines where it is down to the individual situation. Again this space allows for discussions around those cases.
Thatā€™s a lot of opinions that float around.

Then its also understandable that people get confused.

In the end everyone wanna have a nice safe playable area.

More examples of good and wrong nominations ad the guidlines can be helpfull.

To follow upā€¦ā€¦
The original topic

Is no longer on slow mode. It would seem to me that discussion around this type of trail and comparisons to other trails can continue there as it is an interesting specific case.
[I am using trail loosely to refer to a sequence of Points of interest designed to work as a whole]

There were other topics that have arisen out of that, and I donā€™t see the need for the individual posts that were fine to remain hidden.
I think I may be able to select out posts that relate to power-spots and add them to that specific topic.
There were some points raised about how we as wayfinders with a limited number of submissions might make decisions around what to submit and priorities. Since this was where the conversation became unconstructive I will try to create a topic relating to this using a totally different example.
I think that covers most points.
But do feel free to raise anything I have missed ā€¦ā€¦ I am human so I do unintentionally miss stuff from time to time

It is quite comprehensive and we appreciate them for everything they do.

No. This is something they do on their own volition to make the community a better place and we are ever so grateful for their help.

Thatā€™s an understatement IMO.

Thatā€™s well earned and deserved to say the least.

Thanks for the feedback. We will work towards it.

Why are you answering this? All the Ambassadors can speak for themselves.

You have completely missed the point again.

Thatā€™s their choice. I felt that I should answer these points

I mean thanks but your opinion on what an Ambassador does is as useless as mine since neither of us are one.

That was not an opinion. I was stating facts :raised_hands:
