More PokéStops and Gyms Coming to India and Indonesia - Discussion

Also many power spots in my campfire is still showing eternatus raids idk why!?

From what I see too many power spots are being replaced with pokestops it’s really bad.

It probably is because it hasn’t refreshed yet.

Yup in my area there is no power spot visible on the pokemon go map, and probably there aren’t many power spot left. And my area doesn’t even need more pokestops, it already has plenty of them.

I agree with you on this, this was supposed to be a change for better progression but this isn’t good now because they have removed power spots from places which had many pokestops but 1 power spot in a huge area.

The problem is we don’t have enough players to create proper feedback.

Hi @Samaksh1
I’ve moved your questions and feedback posts over to this main thread about the powerspot change.
Some comments above Tintino asked for feedback. Here you’ve a higher chance to be seen

Thank you.

I don’t know what they are doing but I saw a pokestop added named little bunny bakers hub while it is not a hub but a small resturant. But I should say it was as it was closed 4-5 years ago or even before yet they have added it. :face_without_mouth:

Hai, local community leader here, *im not niantic ambassador thou

Thanks for new update
Because of this update our playground that has 3 gym now has 4 gym for raid day event

Hello and welcome to this wayfarer forum

@bearhug @dhuan79 @Nickthiru

Please do post your comments about the changes, as the feedback will be read.

These are my personal thoughts as to how you might help yourself rather than wait.

I suggest that you try to make some powerspots.

There are no guarantees but community observation is that

If you get a second wayspot in alevel 17 cell that already has a pokestop/gym

and it is more than 22m from a pokestop it may become a powerspot.

So far there have been syncs on the 4th of the month ( did not happen in June) where newly added wayspots that meet the points above have been added into the pool of powerspots. (edited)

So whereas in the past you might not have submitted something as it wouldn’t become a pokestop it might be worth looking at that again. You would have to be very quick to stand a chance for September :crossed_fingers: if it happens.

You might already have some of these in L17 cells worth checking

As always these wayspots would need to meet wayfarer eligibility criteria and rules about accuracy of submissions.

You can use all functions: report or edit
In your case it’d be to report, because repurposing is forbidden.

I misread your comment and thought you were talking about the power spots that were removed in this update. But now I wonder if these that are going to remain power spots have to sync back in. Maybe the status had to be changed on all of them in order to upgrade some of them?

I have edited it does it now read more clearly?

I just checked the power spots in my area many were removed but there have been nothing placed in its place i am very concerned about this.

Wouldn’t expect that I return to this forum only to throw another rant again that would made me quit Wayfaring completely, so here goes. (For anyone who knows me since first forum, yes I’m from Indonesia)

This morning, on my way to go to work, I encountered this abomination:

A newly imported Pokestop, that represents what? You guess correctly, a local state K-12 school. Does it meet Eligibility Criteria? No, it doesn’t. Does it meet Acceptance Criteria? No, either. Does it meet Rejection Criteria? Yes, it does meet ineligible location criteria being a literally K-12 school. Yet it suddenly appear into the game.

Dear Niantic (or Scopely), we’re tired. We have to follow the criteria to submit new Wayspots. We also have to follow the criteria to review Wayspot nominations. Many of us, especially the Ambassadors, also have spent our time to educate new Wayfinders that just have reached TL35 to nominate new Pokestops. Yet your 3rd party imports still doesn’t reflect the integrity of Wayfarer, having those “should’ve been rejected” Wayspots appear in-game. You didn’t reflect the mess you’ve created in previous 3rd party imports either! And let me guess, is there another Metro Pillar Pokestop created in India?

I could say that majority of players in both countries are satisfied with additional Pokestops from 3rd party import (don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate that as well). However, was this step really necessary? Especially the new imports (or, should I say permanent upgrade) will help Trainers to level up faster and to reach Wayfarer eligibility sooner? Not to mention there will be leveling update incoming next Season that might affect current Trainer level in case they’ll automatically levelled up or have to earn more XP instead?

Also why would we keep following the criteria, then? You have well-defined set of criteria yet you allowed those “should-not-meet-criteria” Pokestops in-game, while some of them hardly meet removal criteria. This have been spoken many times before, but this would lead Trainers especially newer ones would think they’re allowed and thus nominate similar things in their location, only to being rejected and thus let them upset. Or even worse, as reviewers they would let such nominations passed which resulted new Pokestops that shouldn’t be accepted. Did you ever have to consider such risks, or were the criteria now irrelevant again? You shouldn’t forget that “perfectly” acceptable nominations are still getting rejected by unexperienced reviewers, either.

“Can’t you just report them?” While I could, there’s no way I would do that. It’s time consuming. I don’t want to locate and report every ineligible Pokestops. I don’t want to wait until the decision come. I don’t want to appeal the rejection and wait for the final verdict. And I don’t want to get witch-hunted again by angry local players…

So tl;dr please filter imported Pokestops better. Also please clean the mess caused by your own decision  @NianticTintino

My community has nominated every possible way spots in our 2 meetup spots and many of them were accepted but never showed up due to S2 cell criteria. Some showed up as powerspots but those also are gone now. No pokestops or gym either showed up in their place. I don’t know what we can do now. We are in a very small city (6km radius) so you can guess we don’t have that many spots available for meetups.

@patsufredo its not just that bro they are removing the power spots from many places and not even placing anything in return. And do they even know which area is urban they are just doing it randomly. Not to mention with so many power spots gone its a downgrade.

I understand your frustration as I’m also from an area affected by this change. That said, you need to understand that some decisions are taken from the business point of view and this one definitely seems like that.

I have reported the newly populated Stops that did not meet criteria for removal and suggest that you do the same.

Regarding disappeared Power Stops that didn’t become Stops or Gyms, I think they would be back as Power Spots in the next circulation.
