Could you please make it eligible for “repurposing” as well, to keep the remote and rural areas more exiting? Thanks)
Well i just went nusa tenggara last week. It was barren. I submit some but its just drop in a bucket. There wasnt any community there. Hopefully this will help new player.
Should be Globally adding Gym and Pokestop ,
If the existing powerspots will be converted to permanent gyms and pokestops, do we get new powerspots in the same location? As we had dedicated spots for Max battles events and if many of those will be converted we might have to look for more clustered powerspots area.
Hi @gchirag007,
Great question! As of now, the India and Indonesia teams will be hearing feedback from those communities and analyzing the impact then deciding on their next steps. In the meantime, they’re also looking to place permanent PowerSpot(s) in Campsites, slowly rolling out across the globe where they have Pokémon GO Community Ambassadors. Again, this only impacted rural and remote communities where Max Battles were incredibly difficult to win given their game levels.
If you feel this has negatively impacted your community, please feel free to reach out and give us that feedback. You can also reach out to your Pokémon GO Ambassador and give them the feedback. Either way it’ll reach the appropriate teams.
In my area sir most of the power spots have turned into pokestops will there be a gym or not that’s what I wanted to ask.
Thanks for the info @NianticTintino . First concern I have is regarding community Ambassador path of getting powerspots, as we don’t have any community Ambassador in our city. We are only 5-6 in person players with majority of them busy with jobs. Now only 2 of us are active for daily meetups and never been able to become community ambassador. Second, we have seen an increase in amount of pokestops(only so far) and majority of our power spots are gone.I checked in our local meetup spots. We have two spots based on event type. 1 had three powerspots and all of them have been inactive since yesterday. No gyms or pokestops have been created in their position so far. In the second spot, we had 6 powerspots and 5 of them are gone with no gyms or pokestops as replacement. Please let us know if they will be actually replaced or not, as I reckon this is an ongoing rollout.
I will also like to add that I am in a semi-rural-urban city. It’s quite small and 5 of us were quite successful in max battles because of remote players joining us for battles. The Max finale event was fantastic for us due to remote community.
Do you think Power Points will ever be permanent? Why did they do it that way? I don’t think they interfere with the map. There are areas where the map is so crowded that you can’t even interact with other PokéStops or Gyms, which makes it difficult. So I don’t think that’s the issue. They should be permanent, like Gyms or PokéStops, because sometimes they’re not active during an event or on Max Mondays. Hopefully, the Power Point issue will be clarified.
Hi, this is from India, semi rural. We have (now, had) only one power spot in our community and honestly, had very much fun during the go fest finale last week hunting all the Gmax and Eternetus at that spot. It was first time really we all came together for any kind of max battles. Just when I thought Pokémon Go is focusing on Max battles more and community is also joining in, albeit slowly, the power spot is gone. IMO, this acts as a severe hindrance to the whole supporting max battle thing the game is doing. The only power spot around is turned into a poke stop now when there are multiple poke stops around and we don’t even need one more. My question is why can’t niantic use the data they already have as there are many submitted and accepted way points from many of us (including me) that do not appear on map. Why can’t you use that data rather than changing an already established power points and again make people disassociate from the max battles again. It’s only just improving after the whole max finale thing. Now it’s back to square one. I request to please bring back old powerspots. It is nice that you want to make more poke stops and gyms but use the existing data for that. Making powerspots into poke stops is really just a downgrade for us all.
Perhaps its better if pokestop only created when there is multiple powerspot in rotation
Frankly the area around me now void of powerspot.
I don’t want to pinch my words but as of now in my opinion this is one of the worse update to the game. Let’s go point by point:
-
Very marginal audience is reading this announcement here same as barely anyone noticed the 2023 Pokestop addition one. Rural India is definitely not reading this.
-
The game is not popular anywhere in India relative to population be it urban/rural.
-
I have no issue if this actually only happened in rural but the fact it happened to me and some other cities I’ve heard so far means the rural/remote thing was guesswork not any kind of survey or study.
-
Someone like me in high density urban city is also apparently in “remote community”.
-
I had 51 Pokestops + 8 gyms in my neighborhood and 9 max spots pre update. Now I have 59 Pokestops and 1 Max spot please explain to me in which world this makes any sense?
-
The permanent max spots are pointless unless you think players are have absolutely no lives and are meeting up every other day at campsites for max battles? I mean outside events only T1-T3 Pokemons are available which can be done by even 1/2 players.
-
Also most cities don’t even have a campfire group let alone a community ambassador and again I can assure you if cities don’t have it rural definitely don’t.
-
The only reason you won’t get backlash is because again we pretty much have no player base to give feedback let alone backlash. Imagine doing this to suburbs in LA, Nyc to help players in small towns in Nebraska and Montana, you’ll be swamped with complaints.
-
I can also go on and on why game is not popular but that’s completely different topic.
Importing wayspot is actually a good idea because submitting wayspot took too long. People wont play if there is nothing to spin. Now some area have better chance. The only problem is pogo shouldnt remove too many powerspot. We need those powerspot. For area without alternating power spot, it shouldnt change pokestop
Can someone tell me that why was a power spot removed from my area? And how to add a power spot?
Perhaps it got something to do with powerspot turn into pokestop/gym in india and indonesia. Indonesia also have report where never end powerspot suddenly gone. I am guessing we need to wait till wayfarer sort out from their end before making future plan.
That would be okay but the thing is that it isn’t being converted into a pokestop or a Gym
@TjoeMi I also found a post with the same problem which was posted 1 hr ago. Power spots not visible
Someone there from wayfarer team also shared a post saying that power spots in some areas of India and Indonesia will turn into permanent locations such as pokestops and gyms, but then we will be left with no way to do dmax and gmax battles.
It did become a pokestop but that isn’t good because I already had many pokestops but only one dmax spot in my area, now I dont have any power spots in my area as far as I can see in the pokemon go map. Is there any way to reverse this change?
Yes it was me the problem is how less the power spots will be, also I saw 3 pokestops together being added at one place, I would say it was better with a power spot before.
