Most all of my nominations are auto-rejected

Hello everyone, this is my first time in the community forum.

I haven’t submitted any wayspots in the last 2-3 years, but recently, I discovered some eligible wayspots in my town. Two of them are already approved, so I decided to submit some more. These are old street names with a QR code for details about their meaning.

The first one went through and got approved. Then, when I submitted some more, all of them got auto-rejected, except for one that got auto-appealed and is approved now.

I tried to submit one of them again, but it got auto-rejected twice. Additionally, two other wayspots got auto-rejected. I have labeled all of them with the tag “sign” (Schild in German).

“Biederömm Infoschild” is auto-appealed and approved.

I don’t know what to do now. I would be happy if someone could help or give some tips.

Additionally, what should I do in the future when something gets auto-rejected?
Thank you.

I know this one is approved, but I use it as an example.

The AI might recognize the Street Sign as focus - and would most likely reject it because of that.
If possible, try to take a photo of the sign in a more cropped version like this:

I don’t know what you have in the description, but I read it like "scan the QR-code to find out more about this [place] ".

You could provide more info about your supportive information to us to guide you even further.
In general the supportive information could be like who placed those signs and why, what could the explorer expect when scanning the QR, is it history or new information they will find?.
It’s you as the nominator that gotta prove the significance and why this is a wayspot that should deserve an approval.

this is the description translated to English:
"This information sign with the former local dialect street name was installed by the "Bürgergemeinschaft Pro Heimbach-Weis e.V. “By scanning the QR code on the sign, you can obtain further information about the history and significance.”
I also provided the link for the viewers Bürgergemeinschaft Pro Heimbach-Weis e.V.

The one that got approved, the photo was taken from upclose, while all the other ones appear to be pretty far. Try making closer photos or crop the photos before submitting. Try with 1 or 2 of them to see what happens.

I would try adding some of the information available on the QR code scan into the description to show why the location is interesting.

I do think these could be eligible under explore if the information is educational and interesting. But it will require really selling this to reviewers so that they don’t just see a street sign

i am confused. this isn’t something i am aware of happening

this is probably going to keep happening if the rejection reason is something about “automated process” or similar wording.

normal street signs are not eligible, and the ML (machine learning ai) model will have been trained to reject anything that appears to be one.

there may not be a solution other than to appeal each one to in house review if the up close suggestion doesn’t work.

you may want to post screenshots of the other nominations in full for advice on those.

The problem is that the auto reject says nothing why the wayspot is rejected.
This the auto answer in German “This nomination was automatically rejected because it violates the Wayfarer criteria.” so I don’t know if the problem is with the title, photo or thr description. And what’s violating in this case?

I tried to crop the photo by one nomination but it didn’t help. I will try in the next days with other pictures.
But the first one went through the queue normally.

I have like 10-12 of them to submit. If it gets rejected every time and I have to appeal to everyone of it, then i have to wait like 200 days. Because like i unterstand i become an appeal every 20 days.

Hi @Snapdragon7GHz

Danke

Don’t know if this needs to be moved here:

I have shared my experience here yesterday. Most all of my nominations are auto-rejected
I have tried to resubmit and submit new wayspots with another view or description, but no success. it is a little bit frustrated.
For example:

Wayspot Title: Nebbẹs Infoschild
Location : 50.450247, 7.539906
City: Neuwied
Country: Germany
Screenshot of the Rejection Email :

4 similar signs are already wayspots, 2 were added through me.

I keep on being auto rejected.
I hope you can get these auto-rejects out from all my nominations or at least to know what i am violating, however 2 wayspots are added in this way. Thank you!

Hello,

You cannot appeal rejected nominations here in the forums, only in Contribution Management. You get 2 appeals every 20 days, and if you have used up your 2 appeals, you will have to wait for 1 to come back to use an appeal again.

Wayspot Appeals Is to appeal a rejected removal request that was denied but one has proof that it no longer exists, or to request that a removed Wayspots be restored.

Hello @Snapdragon7GHz
I understand your frustration.
But as has been explained this is not the solution.
I am merging this back in your other topic, and moving it all to nomination support to see if we can help.

Maybe try to make it the same angle as the accepted one. And perhaps try calling it something else in case it’s the title causing issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if the “child” in the title was causing some issues, even though you have that in your accepted nomination as well. Who knows :upside_down_face:.

Vielleicht könntest du im Support Foto noch versuchen einen Markierkreis um das Objekt zu machen, oder einen Pfeil.
Ansonsten hilft nur noch einen Einspruch einzulegen.

The problem is I have more than 10 signs to submit, and all of them have been auto rejected.
