Plus, you got a response right after my comment from Tintino, who thought that was a good question.
Once you have the agreement you have the points.
Anything that happens to that wayspot after that point doesnāt affect the points.
AllĆ©luia ! Iāll finally be able to submit as many nominations as I like each day when Iām on holiday ! Perfect timing, just before the summer holidays
With how many submissions champions can make now, I have a suggestion; An option for submitted nominations to automatically be put on hold when submitted. This would allow nominators to essentially mass-nominate an area quickly, and be able to do deeper research on the nominations at a different time, being able to withdraw ones that arenāt going to fit criteria and giving better info on ones that would before they have a chance to go through the review process.
The Drafts system is very similar to what you have described.
Unlimited drafts can be created, with no distance restriction. You must be within the 10km limit when actually uploading them, which is when the wayspot submission count will be updated.
oh, nvm then, guess i havent been utilizing the drafts system, ill look into it!
Ah, Iāve only been nominating through Pokemon GO, so Iāve never interacted with the online submit tool until now
A thought: with over 300 noms in pocket, what this is going to lead to for me is doing more nominations for awesome things that I know wonāt end up as Pokestops. Like, today I was out on a walk and saw a Marian shrine by my local catholic church, and I knew itād be obscured by the church itself.
But I still stopped to snap the picture and submit, because with So Many Noms, it doesnāt feel like a wasted effort. (And because I love Marys, as Iāve said here before.)
Oh, the online tool is the way to go, not just because of the draft system, but you also get up to 5 supporting images for your nom, which makes it a lot easier to show multiple important details.
This update is great!
It does help a lot for people like me that hits the submission limit all the time ![]()
One thing that weāve been missing for quite some time (+6 months) is a fix for the āplayer codenameā in the web submissions. The web map is very easy to use, but not getting any credit despite having that option turned on is a barrier for some of us
I know people feel this way, but I try to think of it this way⦠Do I only do the right thing when people are watching? Or do I do the right thing just because itās the right thing? I like providing places for people to play. I donāt need the credit or glory for it. If someone really needs proof for some reason, I can take screenshots of my Wayfarer page. But if the website performs a better function (like more supplemental photos) then I am not going to let anonymity hold me back from adding to the map.
Some of us are glad we donāt get public recognition for the nominations we submit. lol.
Thatās a fair point, but I also think itās fair to ask for something weāve had since the beginning. Itās a niche little thing that many of us are used to seeing in photos. Hopefully, it does get fixed so people can actually make a choice
Oh, of course. The best result would be for it to be fixed and be retroactive.
Drafts are not a solution to me (and others) because I like to have my username show on submissions and web submit doesnāt allow that; plus, you still have to be within a certain radius to submit drafts.
I know someone posted a response saying they like that their name doesnāt show, which is great! But that really has no bearing on what people are requesting, because weāre asking to have the choice whether or not to show our usernames. I frequently see recommendations to use web submit both here on the forums and in WDD, which absolutely can be a solution, but I think it would be pertinent to include a mention of the username issue at the same time so that the people being told they should use web submit/drafts arenāt caught unaware if itās something they care about. ![]()
Since the team mentioned that higher tiers will unlock exciting new capabilities, I think the Bonus Location system could also be reworked around the new rank progression system.
Right now, the 3 month Bonus Location cooldown feels very restrictive. Since submission caps now scale with rank, I think Bonus Location flexibility should scale too.
A Wayfinder Rating based cooldown system could help the community in several major ways:
- Reviewers would not feel trapped in locations they no longer enjoy reviewing or in areas with empty queues.
- More people would be willing to temporarily help rural and low density areas with major backlogs.
- High tier reviewers could actively move between underserved regions and help stagnant queues progress much faster.
- It would create a healthier global review flow where experienced reviewers continuously help different communities around the world.
Two possible systems could look something like this:
Option A (Balanced Progression)
⢠Novice: 2 months
⢠Explorer: 45 days
⢠Expert: 30 days
⢠Master: 14 days
⢠Champion: 72 hoursOption B (High Velocity Progression)
⢠Novice: 30 days
⢠Explorer: 21 days
⢠Expert: 14 days
⢠Master: 7 days
⢠Champion: 48 to 72 hours
I know this would be a major change, but so is the new submission cap system. I honestly think this idea would perfectly fit the new philosophy of rewarding contribution while also helping communities around the world get their nominations reviewed faster.
One of the reasons against quickly switching bonus location is that different countries have different cultural importance on certain submissions and it can take a bit to learn.
Still 3 months is long and Iād advocate for champion level to be able to change location every week.
I donāt think Iāve mentioned this to you before, but reporting through chat is way more work compared to reporting directly ināgame.
When you can check the map and place the marker correctly in under ten seconds, forcing people to spend several minutes on a chat-based report just isnāt a good system.
IMO: They all have there uses.
I have used Help Chat several times and donāt find it āhard workā.
Definitely useful when reporting location edits which are either >10m or where you canāt get to them to report in game.
I find the āreport from mapā the best option when reporting wayspots that donāt exist / are on school property etc.
