Nomination wait time

Hi,
I want to ask if is there a way to speed up nominations without using upgrade next, because I’m not sure how many reviewers is in my area, the place is not a big city. Some of that not applied by machine learning still untouched for 2-3 weeks even some were upgraded. What to expect?

Hi and welcome to the forum! Speeding nominations up is what Upgrades are for, so no, I don’t see another option to accelerate.

Be aware that there is a strong distinction between “Upgrade Next” and “Upgrade” though - “Upgrade Next” is for the future, to pre-assign the next Upgrade you earn by reviewing, while the “Upgrade” button immediately assigns the Upgrade and proceeds with prioritizing the nomination. So if it’s “Upgrade Next” that you’re applying, be aware that it does nothing until you actually earn the Upgrade. You earn it by reviewing and subsequently earning 100 Agreements.

I do want to say that 2-3 weeks is entirely normal though. Not to be all “back in my day” , but for many major urban centers 2 to 2.5 years used to be the norm for non-upgraded resolutions. My current oldest are from March 2024, to give you a perspective. The speed of resolution for your area depends on many factors and can basically only be measured empirically (but if you think it’s dependent on your city population - no, it’s not just people in your city reviewing you but people in a much, much larger square). So we unfortunately can’t directly say what to expect, as even for the same area the range is quite wide right now.

I nominated like 40 waystops, which mostly really good looking and uinque structures. Just sad that AI do not process it really well and it sticks to “voting” of “in queie” status. By the way, when reviewing nominations is the a way to avoid editing texts and picking photos which is usually boring as text mostly generated by AI I think and sounds “robotic” as I want to review full nominations more. Or is is lack of nominations in the area so I have to edit?

I’m not sure I understood everything but a few tips:

I would suggest posting your nominations here to get feedback from the community - if out of 40 nominations nothing or a minority got picked up by ML, I would definitely want a second look.

You cannot edit someone else’s text in review, but we do indeed get text, photo and location edits in our review stream. We do not have control on the types of contributions we get to review (and we shouldn’t). And their quality is only as good as what people submit, unfortunately. I don’t know how the proportions work but there was an edit challenge just recently where submitting edits was rewarded, so I would imagine there are a lot of edits pending in most areas.

Again it would help to see screenshot examples of what you mean by “robotic”, but if some text option you got in review is really bad (note that on the edit screen you cannot know what is the current text and what is the proposed text), just don’t select it and select the other option or select “unable to choose” if both really don’t look great. If you have an example of something that is straight up abusive (unrelated gibberish, offensive things), you can also report that contribution, doesn’t matter if it is live or not.

If you’re implying text edits are generated by an AI without player intervention, that’s not the case.

Well I don’t know what’s the rate of successful acception by ML if everthing is fine criteria wise, because for clarification it accepted first 5 waystops in the row, ten let few as it is, then again accepted 4 in the row, and after that let like 15 in voting of queue status, which is unfair, because some unnoticed stops seems to me better than others that were confimed.

I don’t think any nomination is “entitled” to a ML review. If it is accepted fast it’s a pleasant surprise, but otherwise it’s absolutely not guaranteed.
Again if you’re unsure about why some nominations you believe are slam dunks are not picked up, don’t hesitate to share them. That’s really the only thing we can do - try to improve them to the max, sometimes with additional eyes on them, so that they are as clear as possible to the community and to ML.

From the discussion I came to the conclution all I can do is just wait. I cannot edit photos anyway, just a description, which is in native language anyway. I can share some of the waystops I controbuted, but I guess I have to do so in other topic.

As said above, I would consider using upgrades if you find the wait long.
I’m not quite sure why due to the language you would not be able to edit something? We read all types of languages here.
Please feel free to share those not getting past ML - here is an as good place as any considering you’ve given all above context.
