Parody🌟Wayfarer Global Restroom Challenge

:star2:This challenge is a parody :star2:

There was a pond, a tea room, and a public restroom with a nice name on the grounds of the Sagawa Museum of Art, and the wall of the restroom was a rest area with a good view, so I submitted.

Description

Honkawa Public Toilet is a toilet located in Dobashi-cho, Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Located 480 meters from the hypocenter of the atomic bomb, it is a building that survived the atomic bombing. The public toilet was not recognized as an atomic bomb-damaged building until 2015, but the existence of the building was confirmed from footage taken by the U.S. military, and the city of Hiroshima investigated and registered it as an atomic bomb-damaged building. It is located opposite Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, along the old Ota River (Honkawa).

Supplementary explanation

The Honkawa public toilet, located about 480m from the hypocenter, was recorded as city-owned in 1965. Initially, the toilet was not recognized as an atomic bomb-damaged building, but in 2015, a citizens’ group noticed a similar building in U.S. military footage, conducted an investigation, and requested that Hiroshima City register it as an atomic bomb-damaged building. As a result, the city registered it as an atomic bomb-damaged building in December of the same year. Since it is an atomic bomb-damaged building recognized by Hiroshima City and can be confirmed by the information board at the entrance, we believe that it meets the eligibility criteria for a “best place to explore,” and so we applied for it. We appreciate your consideration.

You can see on streetview that the restroom in my nomination really exists.
It’s in a busy area - lots of people walk by here.
We really need more Pokestops in the area, for the children.

The trifecta of acceptance criteria!

This is a public restroom with an Okinawan red-tile roof on Zamami Island, Okinawa Prefecture.
The Okinawan red-tile roof is found on the roofs of traditional houses and buildings in Okinawa Prefecture, and is unique to the area, so I nominated for it.
In addition, the ventilation tower on the tower of this public restroom contains a relief of a humpback whale, giving it a more tropical feel.:whale2::hibiscus:

Title:
Public restroom with red tiles on Mt. Takatsuki

Description:
This is a public restroom with an Okinawan red-tile roof located in the parking lot of Mt. Takatsuki on Zamami Island. The ventilation tower in the center has a sculpture of a humpback whale on it if you look closely, representing the fact that Zamami Island is famous for whale watching and humpback whales can be seen in the nearby waters from winter to early spring.

Supplemental Information:
This is a public restroom located next to the parking lot in front of Mt. Takatsuki observatory on Zamami Island. Mt. Takatsuki observatory and the second observatory can be reached on foot, or by parking your car, motorcycle, bicycle, etc. here and walking up a short distance. The entrance to the Mt. Takatsuki observatory, the roof is made of Okinawan red tiles, and the ventilation tower in the center has a sculpture of a humpback whale, which is a unique Okinawan design that is ideal for exploration and meets Wayspot’s eligibility criteria. The roof is also accessible safely by foot or bicycle as it is a remote island and there is not a lot of traffic.

I am submitting a wayspot for Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture, home to Lucky Park, which I visited at the end of 2021.

The toilet in Central Park looked like a frog, so I named it a toilet that looks like a frog and recommended it. I wrote a very short explanation and supplement, but it seems that the inspiration was conveyed to the judges and it was approved.:frog:

I do have to wonder, with all the new posters here, if they know this is a joke of this thread and discussion:

I started this thread as a parody of the Wayfarer Challenge. Then I recruited participants on X (formerly Twitter).

The participants so far are veterans of Wayspot nominations and are friends of mine. Thanks for your concern.

The rules for participating in this Parody Challenge are as follows
Post a candidate related to a restroom that does not fall under the Rejection Criteria and meets one of the best places for Exploration, Exercise, or Social of the Eligibility Criteria. *There is no reward.

Thank you for clearing things up. When I originally saw this, I didn’t quite understand why there was a parody thread opened, especially after having a discussion about murals on the outside of public bathrooms, not the actual bathrooms themselves.

It helps to provide the context in the first post, so others don’t have any misunderstandings.

I don’t think this is eligible, but I saw this while reviewing a place to verify the location.

Evidently, this business encourages visitors to put stickers on the wall inside their single occupant bathroom. Seems like it would cause lines as people inside take too long reading all the stickers.

Thank you for sharing the photo!

Sticker is similar to scribble, so I wonder about the permanence of the Rejection Criteria? If the owner of the shop in this photo allows it, I would like to put my favorite sticker on it too😆

My standard post when the issue of bathroom Wayspots comes up. Full disclosure: I voted to reject, but admit the description is clever.
