I have a question regarding POI’s in game and moving not in game POI’s. There’s a bunch of clustered POI’s as I look at the map that can’t appear in pogo because they’re in the same cell. The building that the cluster is next to has a cell adjacent that can have a new stop on the same building. How do I move a location not in pogo. It is the same building just to be clear but move it to the next s2 cell.
If you move it to an other cell to let it appear as a pokestop this is considered abuse, unless you are moving it to right location ofcourse. You can use The Niantic Wayfarer Help Chat to move locations of wayspots not in Pogo in the help tab, bottom right a little text will appear, click on that and you can fill in all the steps and the team will take a look at it when they are avaibable.
Just to clarify…
Once a wayspot has been accepted in to the database…
Moving it from an incorrect location to a correct location is OK.
Moving it from an correct location to a incorrect location is Abuse.
Moving it from an correct location to another correct location is also abuse.
This is what i was wanting to do. Move the stop to a cell adjacent to ape it to come to pogo. My question is why is that abuse moving out from a right location to a right location. All id be doing is creating a new stop to allow the game to be more interactive. If it is abuse then Im not going to be doing it but just wanted clarity. I see stops when I’m reviewing being moved all the time assuming for this same purpose.
As stated above from @SlimboyFat71 moving from a correct location to a correct location is abuse. The POI has been accepted on that correct location by either the community or the team itself, then it should also stay there. Someone else will probably link a statement or with some better clarification as I myself don’t know the full details either.
Because they consider it game manipulation. I admit that I used to submit edits for this reason as long as the edit was equally correct to mark the wayspot. But conversations here have made clear that staff considers moving for game purposes to be abuse. I do try to get this message out that shifting cells is also seen as abuse even though the help statement just says moving away is: Niantic Wayfarer
Invalid location edits:
- Attempts to move the Wayspot to a location away from the object with which it’s associated (for example, moving the Wayspot to a different city/country)
Thanks for the additional information. Helps me to learn as well, so I can give better answers every time
Niantic take location edits to mean that the original location is incorrect, if they are correct already then they should not be moved for game reasons.
I have done location edit for technically correct to a better location which happened to open another cell (football field positioned at the centre spot, moved to behind the goal as recommended) it just so happened it allowed another spot. Just using this as an example, if I moved it from behind one goal to the other goal it would be Abuse.
