POI removed form both ingress and Pokemon GO

HI,

recently was deleted POI from Ingress and Pokemon Go. We do not understand why. POI was nice huge screw with nut and name of wholeseller, safe place, accessible 24/7, public place.
Again - sign is safe, accurate, permanent, good place for socializing, exercising and is definitelly significant for community.

The players community is asking for return of that gym and portal.

Apologies if I should have tagged you to move that post to this category instead. I know they had opened the other topic twice, but the other post was about the Wayspot becoming a powerspot, not a formal appeal.

Thanks for the appeal, @XlxaogM1. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspot.

Hi,

can you please share the reason(s) for retirement?
My understanding is, that retirement reasons are much stronger compare to nomination approval criteria.
