I am extremely disappointed this was reinstated. Now the example is on this public forum that it is acceptable to invent a story to get a neighborhood sign Wayspot, even if you submit it to the wrong location.
That’s not the explicit message conveyed.
My advice is still that they do not meet criteria. My experience working in the industry for a company that built these kinds of signs is still valid. I know we didn’t create them for any of the 3 main tenets of Wayfarer. We built them to advertise and sell houses.
Wow I missed a lot. Let me do some clarifying, as I think I came across as the wrong type of person. I simply put the the crest was memorializing the Burnt Bridge, which IS a true story, but only a small and local one. I meant the NAME was memorializing the bridge, not the sign itself, and I assumed that was enough to make it nominatible, as I AM new to this and only just reached level 35 in POGO, so I am sorry for that as I am still learning. However, I am glad it is back, because I was looking around me and nearby there are TWO pokestops of normal neighborhood signs with no apparent significance in the sign or the provided description, so if their nomination stays, I believe it is only fair if mine does as well.
The story is true, it is just very niece in the community. Not every story can be found on the internet. Now, I do see how I worded what I was nominated incorrectly, and if you must know, it was changed in game, and now it has no mention of the Burnt Bridge story in the description.
I meant to say niche, not niece, but I guess the better phrase is a local small story.
This story is not true. I’m from Cumming, Georgia, and I live in Marietta now. When I got this nomination, I was excited because I knew exactly where this new neighborhood was and construction started around 2018. It’s one of the newer neighborhoods in our area. I was so confident that this wasn’t a local or that this didn’t happen so I asked my family and my grandparents. None of them had ever heard of it. I also did extensive research online and couldn’t find a single credible source for this supposed “local story of a bridge being burned down”.
The only thing that came up was a “Burnt Bridge” in Wisconsin. Which was a small local bridge that burned down and there was a photo with it. And then that same story years later was stolen by some guy and was posted on the BURNT BRIDGE AT SETTINGTON neighborhood facebook page. Crazy. I don’t know if they were trying to pass it off as if that happened in Cumming Goergia or if they were reposting what happening in Winconsin. But regardless I’m just saying what my research has done me for. So please, since we’re both from Cumming, Georgia, explain why neither I nor my family (who have lived in Cumming for years) have ever heard about this bridge. I truly believe this should have been described simply as an entrance sign Waystop for the neighborhood, not a this bridge story.
But I’m open to seeing actual credible sources, and if I’m wrong, I’ll gladly apologize. As of now, when you search for information, all that comes up is this forum or the I-85 bridge fire in Atlanta. I can’t find anything supporting the claim, and that alone should disqualify it from becoming a Waystop.
I see now that there is no mention of the burnt bridge story and that is great news. I am glad that is cleared up. Glad you got to keep your waypoint. Like I had originally said, In the future when you submit a waypoint, all information must be completed accurate and easy to look up. It doesn’t matter if it is a “local legend”. We will not accept that. I know it sounds harsh but that is the rules and it is what is fair. I suggested you read over the guidelines and make them your best friend. I have gotten a few of mine in the denied and I probably will have more denied. Submit more and keep practicing.
Also, the cords I got where from Google earth, not Pokémon go itself, I didn’t know I could do that initially. The Google earth cords were wrong, I put it in the right location
For future reference, the coordinates where you submitted the point of interest are in the submission acknowledgement email below the second photo.
Thank you very much, I had just heard that story from neighbors. Must have been the Facebook thing. I’ll keep a more keen eye out from now on.
I saw that later on thanks!
Hey just for curiosity, what S2 map is that mine I have is a little janky
After Cyndie gets you helped, there’s a pool and tennis court nearby that should be easy submissions and if placed correctly could give you additional PokéStops. Depending on the primary use of the building, it might also be eligible. If it’s a community building that provides a social area or exercise room, it could be submitted as that if you can find evidence. If it’s just an office or leasing center, it shouldn’t be eligible. Either way, it would likely only be available in the Powerspot rotation.
No, it’s intentional. You asked about cells so clearly you care about being able to make Stops. Just providing an easy nearby suggestion in case you’ve overlooked.
Oh yes yes sorry I misread you
oh i missed this ping, sorry.
we should probably start a new topic, but here are the cells at the spots gendgi mentioned
