Is there a way to create powerspots in Pokemon Go like you do for pokestops? Tia!

When you submit a POI using Pokemon Go, you are actually submitting a wayspot, even though the narrative says you are submitting a pokestop.

If approved, that wayspot will become a pokestop in Pokemon Go if the inclusion rules allow. If it is in the same cell as an existing pokestop/gym, it might become a powerspot. (removed as incorrect - but not if there is already a powerspot in that cell.)

The best way to proceed is to simply submit leigitimate things. Some will become pokestops, while some may become powerspots. There are powerspots near me that are wayspots that I submitted, as well as ones imported directly into Pokemon Go.

Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. The schedule for syncing in new Power Spots is not on a daily basis. The last few syncs have been on the 4th of the month.

Multiple waypoints in the same cell can become PowerSpots, just not at the same time, they can rotate.
